AF2 will not actually be in 2.2

Noticing a strange omission from all the marketing hype of 2.2? Not a single preview for AF2 Armor!


SE has never been shy to show off Armor sets. They showed Allagan2 with all the coil bosses, the masterwork sets as well as the HM Dungeon sets.

We got a chance to see some of the concept art for AF2 along with the Allagan2 a few live letters ago (you can check them out here)

And with the anouncement of the new Allagan Tomestones, everyone generally assumed AF2 will be purchasable as an alternate progression path along side The Second Coil of Bahamut. Similarly to AF1(i90) was in 2.0

But we forget one thing: Our first iteration of AF1 was through job quests! And they were 2 sets of tomestones. We may just be seeing the next iteration "Philosophy" i.e. another Darklight set.

Its possible we won't see AF2 til 2.3 maybe with a new set of quests. (I also suspect it could be drops for CT part2)

Maybe a community manager can clarify?

Correct me if I'm wrong but we had both sets of stones at launch right? So if this were the next tier of "Darklight", it would not be on par with Coil Pt. 2 gear. We would need 2 sets of new tomestones, the DL version and then new af version.

From what I see, we're only getting one new set of tomestones and they will involve the Gerolt's masterwork crafts somehow. They seem to have nothing to do with Artifact Armor.

Aside from Bard we haven't seen any of the other classes that we already have concept art for. At least not a clear image. And as for Bard, the concept art we got was a male hyur while the actual armor screenshot is a female miqote. Not all armor has to look the same on both genders or across races, WHM AF pants one example. I wouldn't rule out AF2 just yet.

Yea I'm kinda going with this for now. May not be included, which is fine. Maybe we could get an actual large end game content to obtain them
and not just another dungeon/raid
