Curious About Cross Class Skill for SMN

I was reading a guide for SMN that suggested having the THM skill Thunder as a cross-class skill for my DOT rotation. However, when I access the Cross-Class skill section of the menu, I only have Surecast and Blizzard available to me as SMN even though I have Thunder on my THM already. Is there a reason for this? And how would I go about getting Thunder on my SMN?

Thunder got removed as a cross class skill as part of 2.1

They remove the skill thunder to be available for cross class (SMN,WHM) in the 2.1 patch instead you can get Blizzard II.

Well that explains a lot, haha. Thanks for the info! On a side note: would Blizzard II even be worth throwing on a SMN? Doesn't seem like it would be all that effective.

When your dots are all up if there's more than 1 mob: bliz 2 is better than ruin. It's expensive on the mp though, so be careful. SMN should be throwing out at least some of these in turn 4 in phase 1 and 4, also quite a bit in dungeons.

Yup, reasonable damage, quick (ish) cast time and has 'bind' which is very useful for dropping on mobs chasing you so you can reposition

When you are low level it would be your 1st AoE you could get easily.

Afterwards some like to use when more than 3 mobs.

With my first arcanist...I remember that one of the first things I did was upgrade the THM just for obtaining Blizzard II... It is worth, don't know in higher levels, but in lowers it will be really good for some fates or nooby-monster you shouldn't even care in putting DoT.

That's good to know. Is Blizzard II not an AoE only around myself though? Of course there is a very good chance that I'm remembering it wrong as I didn't use it as THM (I just leveled enough to unlock SMN).

It centers around yourself yes. It's effectively a more powerful version of tri-disaster with that one difference. RIP tri-disaster.
