As I tried to make clear in the OP, I'm all for having auto-refresh. It just seems a bit overpowered in it's current state. But, it's entirely possible that it was put in like this to pave the way for further changes. Who knows![]()

For brevity sake, I think its OP. Takes away the challenge of... well, thinking.
I finished nm goblin and buffalo fights tonight with more mp than when I started. I chain nuked brags in between indiscriminate cure 3s and took 95% of their hp before the meleers took down HPBB. Activated tornado without even caring if spiritbind was up ir not. Siphon isnt even my ability and it was draining 300 mp off them combined. And that's not even using the cheating F button at all: Did not use tranquility the whole night. Siphon even works on the great buffalo now, when did that happen??
W.. What are we doing here folks? Honestly. Where is this kind of ridiculous ease going?
I never felt that mp regen was necessary. I liked it the way it was before. The whole point of having mp is making sure you manage it. With this update it seems you can use your magic as much as you want without giving a thought to conservation. I think they should have taken a step in the other direction and make mages more complex when it comes to managing mp. I guess I just like a challenge.
I wish they hadn't done this, but they have. I don't even understand why. Between radiance and tranquility, I never ran out of MP. I mean, not ever. I expect magic to get nerfed to high hell now.![]()
Engaging a mob should flag you as in combat and your group in combat. This will solve the issue. MP regen outside of combat is fine.
The MP regenerating abilities should be for endurance fights.
They also need to adjust costs for abilities.
Once that's done, it'll be fine.
I liked having to manage Siphon MP and Stygian Spikes.
I did run myself down below 10 MP sometimes and then I was just stuck. Therefore, 1 MP per tick would be enough for me.
