I had unlimited MP on my THM before the update. I had Siphon MP which can drain MP from the dead, and you get a bonus from the dead, plus Damnation, and my 10 minute 50% MP restore. If anyone is going through that much MP in a few seconds, they're being a little wasteful.
I think some of the spells should have their costs cranked up, or it should be turned down some. What's the point of having MP if there's no threat of running out? There needs to be some reason to be careful managing it. Even using a few spells on MRD, there's now no threat to running low. Plus it's always restored after a leve. It just needs to be rebalanced a little. I think spell costs should just be upped by 50% (expect Ancient Magic. 100 MP a flare seems fine)

I like it the way it is right now. The MP only regenerates in Passive Mode, so it makes absolutely no difference during battle, and it doesn't regenerate fast enough to make any kind of a difference in a situation where you're fighting multiple mobs in a row. (You still have to rely on your MP skills in those situations.)
The only thing MP regenerating really brought to the table, is a practical means of allowing DoM to solo\duo - and allowing them to rest at certain intervals in larger parties much like mages could in FFXI. I really don't want to see them mess with this, as it was a long overdue feature the game needed.
If anything, higher ranked\tiered spells should just cost more MP later in the game.

The current MP regeneration is overkill, to the point where all the spells and abilities that give MP are pointless and useless. I mean, it's nice and all, but it's excessive. All it takes is a few seconds of being disengaged and bam you're ready to fight again. MP management went from a slight challenge to being completely unnecessary.

Believe it or not, most people don't play MMOs so they can be forced into groups. I don't know about you, but 80% of my PUGs in XI barely spoke with each other, if at all. Most of my fun and chatter came from my linkshell, as did most of my in-game friends.
Plus, without forced grouping, people who don't play regular hours can still solo some exp instead of having to deal with groups like the JP ONRY folks.

Like for behests, you are pretty much FORCED to party with people participating or you won't get the full sp and people don't complain about having to group as it's right in your face... and this is a completely different game than xi, so why not?
This describes my 7 years of ffxi. I also hated being forced into the whole party thing. Don't get me wrong this game should be the most rewarding for parties BUT should allow other options. I hated when i only had a few hours to play and knew there was no point in playing my favorite game.
