    MP Regen - A Bit Too Much?

    Let me preface this by saying I'm glad they introduced some form of auto MP regen. It should have been there from the start. But I feel it's far too much in it's current state.

    MP should not regenerate as fast as HP. This totally removes the challenge of managing one's MP. I see this as a step backwards for the battle system, honestly.

    Now, I do agree that there needs to be some form of MP regen. Even though MP wasn't that difficult to manage before 1.16. Melee classes also rely on MP, and if they don't wish to level THM to 20 for Siphon MP, then an auto-MP regen is even more important to them, of course.

    However... my observations put the current MP regen at 8mp/second. That, I believe, is far too high!

    MP does not regenerate as fast as hp. They do need to adjust the mp recovery skills to reflect the auto-refresh update as they clearly have not yet (Radiance still recovers 12 mp max at my rank). Auto-Regen is like 40 hp/second, refresh is not even close to that.

    That's fine; I misspoke apparently on that comparison. However, my point still stands.
    Yes, Radiance and Damnation could be improved a bit, but Siphon MP and Stygian Spikes are more than enough to effectively manage MP. Not to mention THM and CON moves like Exaltation and Tranquility. However, since melee classes don't get those, some form of MP regen is needed. What we have is too much, though.

    Considering I have to stand perfectly still for about 2 and a half minutes to recover my MP to full, I'd say it's perfectly reasonable.

    Its fine the way it is. It actually regens slower then most other mmo's.

    Uh, you don't need to stand perfectly still to auto regen... I don't know where you're getting that.
    It took me 1:44 to regenerate 860 MP from nothing. This is without having to sit or rest in any manner like in XI. That is far too high a regen for MP.

    As I said, mages already have plenty of tools to easily manage their MP. Melees w/o Siphon MP could use a boost, yes, but what we have is just plain easy mode.

    I had unlimited MP on my THM before the update. I had Siphon MP which can drain MP from the dead, and you get a bonus from the dead, plus Damnation, and my 10 minute 50% MP restore. If anyone is going through that much MP in a few seconds, they're being a little wasteful.

    I think some of the spells should have their costs cranked up, or it should be turned down some. What's the point of having MP if there's no threat of running out? There needs to be some reason to be careful managing it. Even using a few spells on MRD, there's now no threat to running low. Plus it's always restored after a leve. It just needs to be rebalanced a little. I think spell costs should just be upped by 50% (expect Ancient Magic. 100 MP a flare seems fine)

    I like it the way it is right now. The MP only regenerates in Passive Mode, so it makes absolutely no difference during battle, and it doesn't regenerate fast enough to make any kind of a difference in a situation where you're fighting multiple mobs in a row. (You still have to rely on your MP skills in those situations.)

    The only thing MP regenerating really brought to the table, is a practical means of allowing DoM to solo\duo - and allowing them to rest at certain intervals in larger parties much like mages could in FFXI. I really don't want to see them mess with this, as it was a long overdue feature the game needed.

    If anything, higher ranked\tiered spells should just cost more MP later in the game.
