    Three things you love, three things you don't, three things you'd love to see added.

    It's simple, easy, fair and constructive. Try to fill in three for each of love/hate/want so that each post is constructive. If we get enough posts, I may even provide an analysis of the responses, counting up thoughts for/against certain parts of the game and the "most wanted" stuff, things like that. Hope you guys find the thread interesting!

    Love
    1. Crafting System - The way you craft in this game is well designed and the variety of options you have is great, too. I feel that I am rewarded when I reach L50 in a craft with the actions being able to be used by other crafting classes I have.
    2. Battle System - I'll concede on this one, while I did like the old system more at 2.0, I've grown to love this one just as much. I don't play as often as most people in my FC/LS when it comes to battling, but I do enjoy it when I pop along and we all have a great laugh.
    3. People - The people in this game are, for the most part, terrific. I've made fantastic friends in this game and I've even met some of them in the real world now - one person we met in 1.x (and still play with today) came to my wedding last year, for example. These are bonds that can not be broken easily and I'm so glad I have played this game, mostly because of the people.
    Honourable mention: Environments, this world is super pretty.

    Hate
    1. Economy - Seriously, it's awful. Just horrible. For a person trying to save up gil, this place is a certified hellhole. There is an openly announced fear from Square-Enix to allow people to generate gil because that will mean RMT will also generate gil. Well, here's some news: RMT are generating gil anyway. So, can we do the same, now? Please? This system was great in 1.x, and I know SE can put together a great system in 2.x if they try. I worry that SE just don't care.
    2. Leveling System - I feel leveling battle classes to be a little too long (although not much) and the opposite for crafting/gathering. A system where you can get a crafter or gatherer from L1-50 in a matter of hours if not minutes just by spending a lot of gil is absurd. This is part of the reason the economy is in tatters - there are too many high level crafters and gatherers which causes a saturation of supply vs. demand.
    3. Materia System - What's the point in a materia system if you can't put materia on any of the good gear? How does that allow people to be different and try new things? What about the worthiness of certain materia - shouldn't things such as Wind Materia actually be more useful than Vitality Materia when you are trying to improve your defence against Garuda? This kind of thing really annoys me.

    Want
    1. Card Game - A 'friendly' minigame would be awesome in FFXIV. This place really does need more to encourage people to talk to one another in a casual environment (in other words, not while you're in the midst of battle) and I feel a card game or something similar would work wonders for this. I know that there is a desire to add this into the game eventually... I just hope they don't wait too long to do such a thing.
    2. More Danger in the Open World - I feel walking around Coerthas and Mor Dhona to be so easy and I feel disenchanted from the world presented to me because of it. I can accept that people want to be able to run to wherever they might need to go, but there should be darker corners where monsters will kill you if you aren't either decked out in the absolute best gear possible or otherwise have a friend along with you, even at L50. Essentially there should be L60 enemies in this game. Not on the "main roads" but in Garlean camps and the nooks and crannies of the world.
    3. Curious Creatures - For those unaware, in 1.x there were curious creatures. Non-aggressive creatures, that is, that should you stand near them, would walk up to you like a minion - even follow you over a few meters or so. I really miss them - I hope they come back someday!

    love:

    dungeons: dungeons are nice and fun not too long have interesting battles.

    events: love all the events so far nice and short also simple nothing annoying.

    fates: fates have great titles, nice littler bosses with fun names ect.

    Hate

    players: players only want loot noone plays to play anymore social aspect of mmo's is pointless seeing noone wants to even talk to anyone definitly if it's outside of ls or fc people just form cliques and ignore everyone else. (course this isn't the only game with this, this is how all games are based around your small group of friends or guild and ignore every other living being)

    crafting: always hated crafting not my thing so yea don't like it.

    don't have a third! not sure what else i don't like about the game but maybe i will think of something!

    want

    gold saucer already: who doesn't want fun mini games and other great things gold saucer would bring? while i do want this i know i will be disappointed not because of any specific reason other than my very very high expectations of it.

    minions and mounts: moar minions and mounts plox ty <3

    pointless content that is for fun and not items. i love content that has no real meaning besides just doing it, only doing something because there is a carrot dangling in front of your face is boring.
    i like to coil and even do ex's (haven't passed titan or beaten 4 or 5 yet but getting there) i do them for the fun not the loot, my static having issues and can't go a week? oh well

    Lore - I'm the kind of person who likes to go out and learn about worlds and histories and all that deliciousness. If you want to find it, this game (like any FF game) is steeped in so much lore, that spans hundreds of game years, and I never fail to find something new and interesting about Eorzea. Even reading the FATE and Quest descriptions can tell you a lot about local lore, customs and beliefs. It's amazing.

    Areas/Map designs - Having played XI, where most of the maps contain useless passages that add nothing but time taken to get from A to B, and 1.0 where the same existed except most of it was copy/pasted, every place in XIV has a purpose for its existence (also part of the lore), and there's so much potential for these areas (which don't give much reason to see them except for seeing them) to become used for some purpose later on. The Sil'dih ruins are an example; you go there, and nothing much happens. But nothing says that later on in the game's life, we don't see a new dungeon come out of it (or even some different kind of content concept) and suddenly new things are to be found.

    The Localization Team - I love these guys. They add so much to the game through the use of witty word play and the like that is bent to fit the world but is still familiar in our own. I can read the dialogue and descriptions on everything for hours, and not be bored by it. Then again, word play is one of my favourite pastimes and often annoys friends when I come out with them.

    Hates

    "Those kinds" of players - Sharing on of Musashidon's hates, here. I also get fed up of seeing how closed-minded and self-centred that some players can be. Never mind trying to work out some new way of beating some content, or just experimenting for fun and enjoying the game. No, if you can't beat it first time (it's funny that most people who make these request tend to be the first to fail anyway) or you haven't already beaten it (or been carried; how do you tell if they can actually beat the content?), then no luck for you. It's sad.

    Lack of exploration - As much as I love the lore, and seeing everything in a map that's there to be seen (even if that is in the distance), I want more reason to go to these players. Not just to "kill X mob that spawns here and collect my 200g, uh-derp". I mean, it's hardly an exhilarating reason, is it. I can kill things anywhere in the world. I don't need to go to some remote location for that.

    Gear options - Let me start by saying that "I wear what I feel like wearing", I don't care for optimal gear and BIS (read: best in set, because best in slot isn't always accurate; X item is only best when the other items compliment it). That said, I do like to have options in what gear I do choose to wear. I like things that compliment my play style, or let me try new play styles. Currently, there's a severe lack of that. I do understand the reason behind the design, however, an I appreciate the difficulties that it would present. I do hope, though, that Yoshida and Co have some plans on the go that will change this. I have every faith that he will do something like that when the game is ready for it.

    Wants

    More Reason to Explore. And Mysteries. - Basically, the thing I really dislike becoming something that I really like. It would be nice to come across areas that are quite secret and aren't always accessible, giving access to limited time encounters and exploration, or that perhaps offer new experiences and puzzles/mysteries to unravel. They could start by unwritten quests that are for the player to discover, rather than given a mission directive and told where to go and what to do. Something for the player base or your FC to work together on and figure out whatever it is that's being figured out. Adding to this are areas which are fairly uncharted and contain all kinds of interesting and dangerous things to do. The two could easily be added together.

    Content with Multiple Paths - Whilst we do have (some) dungeons with two different modes that give different experiences, I'd love to see some 8/16/24 man content that provides a different path each time. I enjoy the current content, but I do like things to be a little more unpredictable or varied. Something reminiscent of Salvage from FFXI would be an absolute blast, in my opinion. That, and having to separate the group into (particular in 8 man more than 16 or 24), where both groups have to be on the ball in order to succeed or really have to work together to get them both through the map.

    A well designed Red Mage - My first job in FFXI, I loved the kind of things you could do with a RDM if you learned the job well and knew its strengths and weaknesses. When doing things alone, you had so much potential to explore. But in end game content, you were a refresh/haste b***h who tossed out a few heals now and then (even more so when enfeebling became the most useless thing in the world). I want to see something really special, that screams "Red Mage" and never becomes a simple thing that people hate to have in their group and that people hate to actually play.

    Love:

    Battle System: It's fact paced and keeps me on my toes though I do feel it can be sluggish at times I generally enjoy it.

    Endgame: Obviously. Since we all know the game starts at the end I feel that it is just right with regards to the grind and the awesome equipment you get.

    Teleporting: People never appreciate the importance of this. While I agree it make the world seem small and insignificant, it provides a very useful outlet for people looking to get somewhere quickly and efficiently. Checkpoints are a staple in the gaming industry and its here to stay. Remember when you couldn't skip cutscenes? This is the exact same thing.

    Hate:

    RMT: "Insert reason here" Far too many but let me dumb it down to the essentials. Destroys economy, ruins progression, simply unfair.

    Voice-Over: The VO in this game is atrocious, especially for the eng version. The translations are off and I haven't felt this ackward watching cut-scenes since I heard Tidus laughing in FFX.

    Death Penalty: While statics can deal with a death or two in raids and still win, pug's cannot. For a game that's geared towards casual the penalty for dying is very hardcore. It's even to the point that the "3 strike" rule has been implemented scaring off potential new players and people who just want to try.

    Want:

    Raise fix: Make "Enhanced Raise" raise w/o penalty (raise will have to cost more mp, longer cast and maybe more emnity to balance it out) and Raise, to be used in battle for whm and as cross-class but still with the penalty. I would keep Resurrection as is due to the fact that SCH has more access to mp regen and making it w/o penalty would be op. This would also encourage people to roll with both classes in full party's (which you should be doing) instead of 2 whms.

    Open World: Before I get flamed let me say that I think the zones are fine as is. What bothers me is the areas between the zones. They are huge and I feel I'm missing a lot when I go between zones and I can tell because the landscape is off when I see the geography of where I am to where I was. SE should keep the crystals where they are and simply expand on these "in-between" zones and make them new areas. You don't need to add crystals in these zones so people will have to go it by foot.

    Crafting King: Every month DoH choose one of their mastered professions to make their best item chosen from a list of selected items (all recipes are included) dictated by an npc and try to make the best possible item. Quality, materia meld, colour, difficulty, recipe level all play a role in this and will be judged by you peers and npcs, who will have varying tastes. The qualifiers will then enter an instance at the end of the month where they will be matched by timezone (you choose) against another player to make the best item with materials given to them by an npc, in a strict time limit. Culinary has "Iron Cook", Carpenter has "Handyman challenge", Weaver has "The Next Top Weaver", Blacksmith has "Tournament of Arms", (SO2 reference :3), Goldsmith has "Bling King/Queen", Alchemist has "Atelier Final Fantasy", Armorer has "The Iron Man Challenge", Leatherwoker has "Mr. Tan Man/Mrs. Tan Man".

    Battle mechanics- movement - sprinting.

    Auction house- Mounts- dungeons, Mounts because they are slow if I sprint i'm usually about 10 seconds away from a person using a mount when getting to destination due to sprint coming back quick so seems mounts are useless, unless you are lazy to sprint. dungeons because they get old spamming them.

    Mini games- chocobo racing like off final fantasy 7, More of an open world

    L;
    The world map. Some say it's small, I say it's detailed. Much prefer this map to 1.0s, which was large and empty. Bigger maps would be nice, but only if they can keep them to the current standard.
    The crafting system. Except for self repairs, those suck right now.
    The references to past games. Again, some don't like this, but Battle on the Big Bridge at the end of 2.2s trailer? That got me damned excited.

    H;
    The community in general. Because we suck.
    The RMT spam. Because they suck.
    Odin. Because he sucks.

    Things I'd love to see;
    This.
    This.
    And I want Frontlines to be comparable to ESOs Cyrodiil Campaign. To elaborate;

    Cyrodiil in ESO is one absolutely massive map. Dotted across it are forts to capture which players can take control of (they become owned by a Guild that took it afaik). Each fort has three other locations to take around it; Mines, Farms, Lumber Mills. Taking them weakens the fort and prevents players from teleporting directly to the fort. There are also a few miscellaneous locations dotted around which can be taken. There are also various quests and active events going on throughout the zone, as well as the best gathering nodes. When taking forts you can also set up various siege weapons, and forts can also be repaired. It really is the biggest draw ESO has in my opinion, if Frontlines can come close to that I'll be extremely happy.

    I like the battle system, though everyone in a class/job having the same abilities with no way to improve them it's the same rotations for all.
    I like the variance in gear looks but high end gear choices are lack luster and cannot be dyed. I want to dye my allagan gear pink, red or blue!
    I like the direction they are going with instanced content but the lack of people that enjoy the tanking class make the content access a waiting game.

    I dislike RMT spam but what's a current MMO that has a currency without them? (A failing MMO)
    I dislike the heavy amount of elitism in the game. Why do I need il70 to join your LotA run? I can clear it with the min requirement easily.
    I dislike lockouts. Yes unlike the majority of players I have more time to play, but lockouts make for a toxic invoronment and make helping other that are new to the content fending for themselves cause you are not refusing to help, you CANNOT help them cause you are locked out.

    I would like to see more diversions in gear with them all being dyable. None of this Darklight and Darksteel heavy armour for tanks at il70. There shouldn't be a forced one look, we don't want uniforms in a game.
    I would like to see more classes only cause I've nearly got all of them to 50.
    I want a twin drill hairstyle! OK, rather I would like to see more customization in the looks of my character.

    Love:

    Dungeons/Trials/Raids: I find them fun to explore and run multiple times. Leveling other classes and getting new perspectives on the same content makes it interesting and fun still :3 Boss fights are memorable and I love the boss music in the game. Some of my favorites are: All story mode primals, Garuda HM, Huakke Manor Story and HM, CT, Coil (only done turns 1 and 2 so far), Castrum Meridianum, Praetorium, Thornmarch, WP...and well okay so it's not some it's quite a lot 8D

    Scenery: I'm not a graphics person. I could care less for ultra mega best graphics ever or whatever. In fact my favorite all time game is a 2D game lol. But I do love the scenery and attention to detail. The game looks beautiful and I find myself taking extra screenies of places just for the scenery :3

    Lvling/Job System: It doesn't take years to grind and you can be any class you work on which is fine with me. Idm if the game slows down on lvling since I have so much fun spamming dungeons to lvl but I'm happy it's not heavily grind based. Plus there's always alternates ways to lvl such as FATE's or leves. Variety is always good :3

    Dislike:

    Main Storyline Quests: They have their moments, like with unfolding mysteries, cliff hangers, duties and ect...but most of them are so horrible they get boring. I love Lore and story...but I honestly must have spam clicked through half of it z.z Too many "Save the world! ...But go pick up my dry cleaning on the other side of the world please. Oh and give them to all my children. Did I mention my children are in Limsa, Quarrymill and the middle of nowhere? THIS IS URGENT" quests lol. Or, go to point b from point a because why not. It devalues the storyline imo. I can understand side quests or random quests that do that but not story quests.

    Random Inconveniences: Not a big problem for me, just kinda annoying. Like not being able to party someone or use party commands while crafting. It's not a big deal they just happen often enough, because there's thousands apparently, that I expect it almost lawl

    Certain FATEs: Fate's like Odin's are kinda stupid imo. He's so rare that I stopped trying to even see him. I doubt I ever will. I can understand the desire to have a free roaming world boss that can just pop up and murder people. It's a pretty awesome idea actually. But I'd rather see this in dungeons/trials/raids more than anything. Or at least make an easier way to know he's spawned other than "oh look I just happen to be here" lawl

    Would Like to See:

    Minigames: Always interesting! Well unless it's just more casino type things. I personally could care less for stuff like slots or poker in games. I would rather see something FF based anyways like FF9s card game. I sucked at it but I'd still collect cards and have fun playing it!

    Customization: Can't have enough of this so I am happy for the new updates in 2.2 :3

    Voices: I'm surprised there isn't more cutscenes with voice overs. Or even dialogue from our characters at all. I'd like to hear NPCs in cutscenes instead of like 1 out of every 10 cutscenes having voices. One thing I loved about FF12 was all the accents which made it really fun and I love the accents and voices we currently have too :3

    Edit: Can't believe I forgot this but...another thing I'd like to see is an in game marriage system or something similar even if it has no benefits and is just for fun~

    ===========
    - The attention to detail. The graphics and animations are absolutely stunning - especially for an mmo. The enemies, armor, landscape, have such great detail and the high quality animations make everything feel so alive.
    - Story and lore. I love how there is a reason for everything in the game (especially the reason for 2.0) and I find the lore to be very interesting.
    - Job system. It's amazing being able to switch to any job on the fly once you've unlocked it. I also enjoy how diverse each job is.

    Hate
    =============
    - There is VERY little challenge in the game. Coils and EX primals are the only challenges the game has to offer..and even the EX primals aren't hard if you have a party with common sense.
    - Little to no reason to go back to older areas. Aside from quests, FATEs, and gathering, there is no reason to go out and explore. Treasure hunting was a step towards the right direction though.
    - Everything is instant. No reason to explore the land, no reason to physically go to a dungeon location.....you just teleport everywhere and queue up for any content besides Coils.

    Want
    ===========
    - Open world content! I want to be able to explore with a reason. Maybe search each zone for a piece of a puzzle that when complete, rewards me with an item, achievement, and/or some gil. Perhaps an open world dungeon like we had in 1.xx. Give people a reason to not teleport all over the place! Add some hidden enemy bases, caves hidden away behind waterfalls, etc. The environments are absolutely beautiful, but feel so...empty. There is so much potential here.
    - Dangers to the world. Right now, the world is too easy to travel through; enemies have a short leash, mounts can outrun enemies before they do any real damage to you, and all mobs can be avoided by running behind them. Implement different methods of enemy aggression - sight, sound, visual, smell?, etc. Also, throw in some high level enemies that force players to slowly navigate around them. Maybe throw in a big dragon in The Black Shroud and players must run from tree to tree and hide behind it so the dragon doesn't see them. This dragon would be at level 99 and impossible to kill. He could be guarding a treasure that spawns once a day/week or something of the sort....or perhaps a rare gathering node.
    - Things outside of just battle content. Battle content is fun and all, but I feel that it will take more than that to keep people interested in the game.

    And um...fix PvP! >_>
