Coil Turn 5 - First pull help

I started working on Turn 5 this week, i am an iLv88 PLD. I struggle with the first pull, or rather to say, i don't understand what goes wrong. I do exectly the same thing and sometimes it works like a charm and sometimes the 3 adds doesn't give a flying F, that i am there and they go straight for 1 specific person waaaay in the back.

Could you help me to tell me an exact strategy, angle to approach, skill order to get all aggro 100% sure all the time?

Shield lob left add > use a defensive cooldown > pause briefly for MT's pull and for adds to gather up > Circle > Flash > Flash > Flash > Flash > Flash > Circle > Flash > Flash, etc.

Im guessing the usual person that gets the aggro from you at the start are either the SMN or SCH. If it is either of these two then it is just a matter of them making sure their pets behave or you wait few seconds after the SCH cast his shield on you before you start the fight.

Also as the OT you should always be the fight initiator in t5.

Facepulling (pulling mobs without using an ability) can be weird in this game. Like another poster said, using a defensive cooldown once all the enemies appear in your enemy list will give you a tiny bit of aggro, just enough to prevent them running after other zero enmity players.

My group has found that any movement at all tends to get the 3 scourges to aggro onto our bard. We fixed our pulls by having nobody move at all until all monsters aggro'd onto the tank.

Just use a low tier cooldown like Foresight after Twintania and the mobs shoot those aggro arrows at someone then flash once (and don't circle of scorn) so that the MT can provoke Twintania off you without too much hassle. Goodluck!

    ...

Feel free to flash spam after you get into position and the MT has Twintania on him btw. o_o

I face pull and then activate Fight or Flight. Works in 95% of the pulls.

    Thanks for the answers.

In the last session it was always a bard who pulled aggro without doing anything. The ridiculous that they are all standing at the top of the slope at least 3 times the distance i can target anyone with shield lob. And i have Succor and Aldoqium active on myself, i would understand if a Scholar would take aggro from me but, thats not the case. The only thing sounds reasonable to me is to pop a CD when they are in reach, because i always used them before I reached down to them. But still everything is decided at first contact, if i was in reach of Twintania, and the 3 scourge are already decided the 3 lines going to me or not. If they were flying above me, flash worth nothing, although it hits them, they fly toward the edge, and give a crap about my flash. I dont really see, how popping a CD in a too late situation changes anything.

I will try using CD in reach of them, but i am not really convinced it will work (Flash also generates hate, for me hate is hate, doesnt really matter the source).

It does work. When you face pull, all the mobs have 0 enmity to any given person in your group. That's why sometimes they go after someone else. By using an ability, and making sure no one else does anything til you have them all, you generate a little bit more than 0, which is enough to take them all onto you. I've done it.
