    Missing Gil While Logged In

    Good afternoon.

Yesterday, I sold an item for 22k gil, which brought my total gil to over 300k. Later that day, I noted that my gil had shrunk to 268k while I was still logged in. Today, I log in and withdraw gil from my retainers so that I'm again at ~280k, only to discover later that my gil has further depleted, to 239k. These transactions are occurring while I'm logged in, so I know it's not a compromised password issue. I just cannot figure where the gil is going.

I have done nothing out of the ordinary in the past two days, except that I hired a new retainer in LL and have been using the LL summoning bell and marketboard because I've been working on fishing and the fishing guild is there. Usually, I use Ul'dah's markets.

I opened a ticket within the game, but have yet to hear from anyone. I am rather confused at why there is a sales transaction log, as well as a marketboard transaction log for individual items, but there is no place for players to track where their gil has been spent as a whole. Please help and soon. I've lost about 100k gil and I'm growing nervous about the possibility of losing more.

Ya I have the same issue. I'm on Balmung and thought something did not seem right about the amount of gil I had. I thought for sure I had more than what I saw a day earlier. I just passed it off as maybe that's what I had and forgot if I bought something. Idk. I don't forsee anything happening with the issue though.

Check your inventory for anything weird you don't remember buying. The last time something like this happened a hacker was forcing people to buy things like bronze pieces or bone chips from the market board for vastly inflated prices and Limsa was their favourite target because of the aetheryte being right by the market boards.

This does indeed sound similar to the RMT 'hack' which occurred many months ago, especially if more than just one person is seeing it.

I created a ticket, but have received no response. I checked my inventory for bizarre items I don't remember buying, but it's just a sad reminder that I need to clean up my bags because I've been gathering and fishing, so if anything was purchased that I already had, I'd never know. I guess I will have to go through my inventory and armory chest item by item.

Anyone have an idea as to how long I should expect to wait for a response? I haven't lost any more gil since yesterday (been sticking to using the retainer in my inn since I read up on the earlier exploit), but I'd still like my 100k gil back, as it's a lot of work to just lose. I submitted a ticket in-game, but the ticket is not in my Service Desk "History".

Can someone PLEASE help me? I have lost another 100k since yesterday. This is ludicrous that it hasn't been addressed in any fashion. I reported this here on the 16th and via phone and in-game on the 17th. On the phone, they did nothing, but told me to open an in-game ticket. In-game, they said to post on the forums. However, I posted on the forums two days ago and have gotten ZERO answers. This is unreal.

Are you carrying around this gil or do you leave it with your retainer?
I had heard about something like this a few months ago so I only ever have about 10k at a time on my toon the rest is with my retainers.

I WAS carrying around my gil on my character, which I am no longer doing as of this morning because of this issue. While I probably should have moved it to my retainers earlier, I still think it's ridiculous that I should lose over 200k gil using features as intended. I know you weren't trying to imply that this was my fault, though.

I am just annoyed because there is zero reason that someone within customer support (either via these forums, in-game GMs, or phone support) couldn't review my gil transactions and figure out what's happening. However, they just literally HAVE NOT done so and each avenue I speak to just passes me off to another. I posted this and, when I received no reply, I contacted support by phone. Phone support told me to file an in-game petition because the GMs are the only ones who can restore my gil. In-game support said that they can't do anything about it until I post something on the forums and have it reviewed and addressed from this level. However, having posted this thread three days ago and getting no GM response, I'm back to maybe calling for phone support. I certainly can't sit here and wait for nothing to happen while I lose piles of gil on a nearly daily basis. I just am at my wits' end with what to do at this point.
