you honestly think that a lot of the high lvl crafters actually press the buttons themselves ... lolhitting enter for standard multiple times isnt any different then what most other games do
the difference is this
1) some games have it to where you just plain always succeed(warcraft)
2) some games its hit or miss(ffxi)
3) in this game, you pretty much have ALOT more control over the hit and miss factor as long as the recipe isnt too high
we dont need an auto crafter, people need to stop suggesting this
some might ...

1) i blame the repetitive character of crafting and the fact that it takes (even though all classes should have been kinda equal, no matter if you craft or lvl a battleclass) much longer to level a craft then to lvl a battleclass and you need resources for it as well. If they made the crafters, crafters only and didn't pretend they were classes like every other and that you could enjoy the same stuff by only crafting... it would be a different thing.
The way crafting works atm drives people nuts or they start boting or they just stop crafting. It just takes too long. Even crystal processing takes AGES, and this is the base for everything.
2) if SE bans RMT and the boters or people who play and bot every once in a while because the crafting system just plain sux, the world would be empty by now. SE made a game with too many restrictions, mindless timesinks but no challenges on the other hand, and on top of that xp-penalties for focusing on one job -sigh- and they stick to never working things like MW instead of turning the game around so also none- "lobotimized" people can enjoy it.
3) i won't comment on all your lvl 50 classes- unless its a photoshop fake for fun....

3) my 50s are legit, and all real, im one of the few people who probly didnt bot to get them too, its alot of damn hard work

I'm sure it's real, some people are just crazy and have way too much time on their hands. Bringing a craft to level 50 is not an accomplishment in my opinion. Mindlessly spamming standard synthesis is the same as botting, even if you pressed the button yourself it's still a robot's job which is even more degrading when you think of it. Some are proud of their "hard work" though and that is why they are against any sensible and intelligent changes.

mindlessly pressing it is legal
using a program is illegal
and all mmos are are mindless games to begin with...

Just like in FFXI, right? Why should we be upset with SE for all the claimbotting on Fafnir, just ban the cheaters! Oh wait, that never happened because they couldn't "prove" they were cheating. So claimbotting ruined HNMs and SE refused to fix it for years and years and years. Let's not repeat the same mistakes with this.
Oh please. Don't call "bot" based on ranks, that's absurd. It's very doable to have this many 50s by now if you've been playing a lot since release. There ARE a lot of botters, but you can't tell who they are just by a single snapshot of someone's ranks.

people bot regardless of the situation if they know they can get away with it and have the moral standing to do so(in other words they dont care if its cheating)
however, SE does need to crack down on them, that is their responsibility, but it isnt their fault that people do it

The crafting system although flawed, is rewarding once hitting the cap or making items. I feel as though making it easier would take away the sense of accomplishment that comes with once hitting the top. Crafting like everything else in this game is an option, if its too hard don't do it; its not like gill is hard to come by. As for the comparison to DOW, it should be harder than battle crafts because it rewards you greatly in terms of gil. Yes the crafting system needs to be tweaked a little bit but, auto/mass crafting, and ranking by quests- is just in the same boat as red dotting aggressive monsters.
I think craft botting would be at least somewhat diminished if they made ranking up crafts less soul-sucking. That's all people really want here. I know you have a lot invested in your craft ranks and probably don't want anyone to have an easier/more enjoyable system than you had to gruel through, but this should still matter to you. Think about what kind of system you'd want to use when they raise the level cap. Do you really want the game to still be "watch movies and enter-spam" when you need to rank up again?well i guess im saying, dont blame the system on people botting

I can also understand the desire to keep high rank crafting as "exclusive" as possible to avoid saturating the supply side of the market. Unfortunately, that's futile because we both know craft bots aren't going away, and they'll still be there lowering the value of everything we make.
Lastly, I strongly believe there are ways to remove tedium from craft grinding without trivializing crafting as a whole. For example, requiring rare material at high ranks would keep high rank crafting difficult to attain even if you could do the synths automatically (think Goldsmithing).
