Wow! We have come a long way!

So I was looking at some old 1.0 videos and after watching this video

I came to the realization that we have really come a long way! I don't know why, but I'm just now fully realizing how much of a great game FFXIV 2.0 is! I can't wait for 2.2 and future updates!

It's not bad, certainly much slower than ARR, but you have to remember they were sticking to the older MMO formula rather than the more "modern" one that ARR adopted (or as some would say, WoW style gameplay). Both have their pros and cons, the slower pace of 1.XX allowed for more skills per class/job than we have now, but they were on long timers (with no global cool down ones to my knowledge, I didn't play 1.XX much at all) and normal/auto attacks were more prevalent.

Wow I never did play 1.0 and it looks pretty interesting. Reminds me of the older ff turn based games with atb bar and all for some reason heh.

I really miss 1.0's in engine cutscenes.. they seem a lot more cinematic than 2.0's.

1.0 attack were slower but they were also not spamy.

I personally prefer the old battle system in that video. Fast does not = good in my books
