I'm hoping master craft recipes would require someone to specialize in a craft instead of everyone being able to max out all crafts.

The whole idea is at least it would be something of an accomplishment not just something handed to people!!! Yes it takes a lot of time to farm all the items to be able to craft 3000 items freely!! Then taking the time to do so would reap some reward but you can still do it free!! That is the whole idea !! It gives a little something to the people out there who still take the time and accomplishment of doing so.The cost of some mats on some servers is stupid high and I am in a server with low prices. Lets take weaver for example to speed craft anything from 41-50 you would choose undyded felt as it's the only thing that will even come close to worth to speed craft as everything else is going to cost more and sell back for almost nothing. Unfortunately making undyed felt takes snurble tufts and fleece both that you need to kill some enemies with not something you can just chop down. So it would take a ridiculous long time to get these mats. So adding in shard usage(450 and lighting shards are 30+ here) and material usage just from the board it costs 57383 gil just to make 99 undyed felt. But wait I need 3000 so I need to do this 30 more times so thats 1,721,490 gil just to get one of the achievements for one crafting class. I can sell them back at about 450 a pop plus market board cut I am looking at only making back around 1 mil back. Yeah I have neither the overhead to start such an endever for this achivement nor would I throw away money like that.
So some peoples options are be rich and throw money down the drain for a luminary. Or have absolutely no life and farm snurbles in the burning wall(and chop down 13k+ shards) for hours on end. Sorry both of these are horrible ideas.
If you want luminaries to be useful make them not a grind and moneysink to get and something you actually would have to be good at to acquire..
