Agree, but western type shouldnt be easy, they have to stop adding easy mode content because at the end even people that are effortless in any game will leave because of the lack of dificulty and sense of acomplishment.they just adding features that XIV missing
their goal is making the game more friendly to western players
and that's a game in my dream!! I always hate WoW world/character design but love their game system
if I can play Final Fantasy with some features from western game included? YES! DO IT!

I guess this is where I come in to say that for years I've argued that the perfect MMORPG would have: FFXI's storyline and use of cutscenes, WoW's accessibility and group dynamics, and City of Heroes' character customization engine. Could borrow PvP rules from Guild Wars but I never played it so I can't comment, but I kept hearing good things about it.they just adding features that XIV missing

* The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
* Design ideas:
Red Mage - COMPLETE (https://tinyurl.com/y6tsbnjh), Chemist - Second Pass (https://tinyurl.com/ssuog88), Thief - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/vdjpkoa), Rune Fencer - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/y3fomdp2)

Also, rested exp isn't "exping while logged out"
and they aren't plannyng infinite arrows. They just said will be easier craft it.
Bad troll attempt, bad information or bad faith ? Pick one

They're not working towards a game that plays in "easy mode", they're working towards a game that is not centered around grinding exp.
As for unlimited arrows, I don't think that's coming. But if it does make it in one day, it wont really bother me since repairs will still offset it in some way.
Things SE is doing with FFXIV:
Modernizing it and making it appeal to a larger audience.
Things SE is not doing with FFXIV:
Bringing back FFXI's stupid engine that was exploited to hell and back by players (who sometimes thought that it was a feature, i.e. gear swapping mid-combat, spells that cast at 68% on the bar, haste shenanigans).

Something tells me you never got to end game in ffxi. Gear swapping gave a ton of gear value that you wouldn't normally use in a regular fight and gave people goals to get more gear sets further which would create more end game content for people that wanted to take part in it. Without gear swaps they will pretty much be negating every single piece of gear after every expansion and SE is way too slow with pushing out content to make this work.Things SE is doing with FFXIV:

And before people start bringing up the fact that ffxi's end game content consisted of camping nm spawns for 24 hours, there were only like 3 mobs that had spawn times that would force linkshells to camp them in shifts, all the other 24 hour spawns only had a 3 and a half hour pop window in which the mob could only spawn every half an hour in that window giving people free time to do plenty of things outside of the game as long as they were there for the minute or so that there was a chance for the mob to spawn every half hour.
In conclusion
What SE is doing - Listening to forum trolls who have barely played this game because it is the worst thing on the planet and won't like it no matter what they do to try and "fix" the content as opposed to using ideas that have already been proven to work in a past SE MMO that was very successful as far as MMOs go for a very long time.
What SE isn't doing - realizing that the people who are crying and screaming for crap that adds barely anything of value to the game won't ever play this game once it becomes pay to play.
But hey, what do I know, its not like they alienated half their ffxi player base when they made everything accessible with little to no time invested with the travesty that was abbysea right?

not sure if people corrected this but:Things SE is doing with FFXIV:

1) Gear swapping was part of it, if you played FFXI like you said, you knew they created gear that worked with it. there were tons of pieces that were purely meant for swapping, they constantly put out pieces that were super specific...so even if they didnt intend it to be that way...it clearly turned out that way (i didnt love it, but it wasnt an exploit)
2)the 68% cast was on purpose....its called fast cast. The more you had, the quicker it would cast. If you looked, the animation would start early, but it would not finish (do the damage/effect) until it was finished (100%).
3) Haste made complete sense, and it was desired so much for a reason, it was a powerful stat, wich most games have some stats that are more desired then others. Of course the community are the ones that too it to extremes some times.
I played a BLM at 75 for 3 years. I had all the sea obis, several AF +1 pieces, AF2, Zenith gear, Nashira gear, Assault gear, HQ staves, and a bunch of other gear that I don't care to remember right now.
I despised having to gear swap and looking like a clown, never having more than 4 empty inventory slots, and having pages upon pages of macros just so I could be competitive; and I despised the fact that SE kept releasing gear based around the fact that players kept exploiting this flaw in the game's engine. It's stupid game design through and through.

SE needs to let their devs do what they're trained and paid for, instead of throwing in everything that people whine for here on the forums. Anyone who has worked in customer service can tell you that the costumer is definitely not always right; in fact, they're wrong more often than not.
The game that was described by the devs in the Making of a Realm video that came with the CE is the game I want to play. Every post I see relayed by the community reps here seem to be taking the game farther and farther away from that idea.![]()

Most importantly.... The community is split right down the middle on every issue... So 50% of people will always be pissed.SE needs to let their devs do what they're trained and paid for, instead of throwing in everything that people whine for here on the forums. Every thing they add will be hated and loved.
They could implement chocobos today and half the people would love it and half would hate the way they implemented it
They could add Triple Triad and again, half would love it.. 25% of people would be mad that they got it from another FF game and 25% would be made that its not tetra master....
But that 25% that wanted tetra master would be super vocal and make 4000 threads about it and make a big fuss...
So SE would alter the game to add more Tetra master elements and then half the people that loved that it was triple triad would be pissed but not everyone that wanted tetra master would be happy...
Endless cycle of Death... just like Spira....
Only instead of Sin being reborn constantly, its forum trolls....
