Please Lower the Amount of Fish Needed For Provisioning Missions.

I can gather the ten items needed for Miner and Botanist in 1 minute each. About 5 minutes at the most to get 10 HQ items. But on Fisher it can take hours to get ten fish sometimes, especially when the fish have conditions.

Currently I need 10 Paglth'an Discus'. I've been at it for an hour now, fishing with the optimal bait, and I have 4 NQ and 1 HQ so far. I usually skip the fishing provisioning mission for this exact reason. However I really want the achievement items we get from completing 200 provisioning missions with each GC. This is already quite the grind without skipping the fishing part. I know skipping it is my choice, but it's unreasonable that fishing takes so long compared to the other DoL's.

I just started fishing and even on low level levequests, I noticed it would take a long time to even get 3 of what I needed, so I can't imagine what it will be like on higher level quests. I have gone up a couple of levels in the class just trying to get what I need, which kind of defeats the purpose of doing those quests for exp. I agree that miner and botanist quests were much quicker, but I also found myself getting overly frustrated when I had a 95% success rate and failed 3/4 attempts. In my own opinion, I feel fishing is a nice, relaxing way to pass the time in FFXIV. Good luck with completing your mission.

At level 50 the 5 fish that i need to deliver to Twin Adder are:

Boxing Pleco (x10)
Paglth'an Discus (x10)
Kissing Trout (x5)
Sagolii Monkfish (x5)
Saucerfish (x5)

I do not know why some fish are required x10 and some are x5. Two of them I can buy relatively cheaply on the market wards and stock up on when the prices are low. The other 3 I just don't bother with.

The x5 fish are Mooched fish. That's the reason you need to catch fewer of them - because in theory, it takes longer to catch several Mooched fish than it does normal fish.

Color me shocked and awed, but SE actually listened! 2.2 Prelim Patch Notes mention that GC fishing turn ins will be reduced! Huzzah!

Huzzah indeed!!! I wish this thread could take the credit, but I don't think any game company responds with a fix within 24 hours!

Yeah it was already mentioned before with the east at which you could collect botany and mining turn in items vs the time it took to catch the fish.
