Lightning event returning?

Be nice to know if there were any plans to bring back the lightning event. Literally started playing 3 days after the 2nd strike ended making me miss a hairstyle completely, and from what I see, permanently.

Surely Square you can't just let your pink haired Cloud not return?

Sadly, from what I understand, I'm pretty sure you've missed out on it - it's not coming back again. The whole reason it was in the game was for cross-marketing for Lightning Returns, hence why it was held twice in FFXIV, to coincide with the Japanese and US/European launches of the game. Of course there's nothing stopping Square Enix bringing the event back at a later date, but I really doubt they will.

Yeah that's what I meant by permanently. My only hope is the new hairstyles they say they're bringing will look decent. Not particularly a fan of anything at the moment, and Lightnings is nice. But of course I miss it by a few days.

They should make the quests, FATES, and hairstyles permanent.
I mean, having more quests and FATES is never a bad thing, and it's not like the items you get from doing the questline are that good anyway (although, they would be perfect for glamour).
I think they should also make the XI and Dragon Warrior events permanent... >3>

They do it in hopes that people will stay subbed in order to avoid missing out on things like this. Seasonal events are based around this strategy and SE has simply added more of these types of events to take further advantage of this. In fact there has been at least one seasonal/limited time event going on during every month since launch.

Feb. 4th - Feb. 21st 2014 Second Lightning Strikes Event (Lightning Costumes and Hairstyles)

Feb. 28th - Mar. 13th 2014 Little Ladies Day (Edvya Minion)

Next month will likely hold an Easter related event.

Looking at this list, you can probably safely assume that if you unsub for even one month you're going to miss out on something. Don't want to be disappointed ? Don't stop giving SE your money.

Most likely would be the egg shell helmets like in 1.0.
But I don't mind, I actually loved them.
