Thread: 2.2 PVP CHANGES

Since most of the community doesn't seem like they pay close attention

GW: In patch 2.15 it was mainly adjustments related to PvP.

Y: I think with the last 2.15 patch, it spread it out. There is one staff that’s always doing Wolves’ Den but if you watch that staff he plays in different variety, says the WHM is now strong. We’ll continue to observe the situation, and we’re going to put in rating match in patch 2.2.

GW: What kind of regulations will the rating system have?

Y: Right now we’re looking into what to split the entrance. But we’re going to make adjustments so those who just started PvP won’t get matched up with those who has tons of points already. Top ranking players with Dire gear is too strong, so we’re going to make it where players can get that at lower rank and make it where they’ll gradually get stronger. We’ve put in detailed changes here, so we’re planning to explain this in the next live letter or at the timing when we read the patch notes.

I think we need more threads that have this SAME EXACT excerpt.

I only made this post because ive been reading threads and people seem like they don't have a clue of what is going on in the game.

All I hear with this is that your long queues are going to become longer. Lemme hurry and knock out these last 4 ranks before 2.2

Que times are already ridiculous even for key classes. Creating a matchmaker this early for pvp would really only worsen this problem. Newbies getting crushed in pvp upon entrance, is like a rite of passage. If you can't handle the heat gtfo.

Which is EXACTLY what they did; they, as you said, "gtfo" because they couldn't handle the heat of standing little to no chance of beating more experienced and higher geared players. Now all we have left are long q's and the occasional beating on newbies who will "gtfo" after a few battles in which they have no chance of winning. If SE doesn't do something, it will just stay stay like this. Now you may be satisfied with this niche and decaying status of pvp but SE obviously isn't. They want to expand on pvp, to make it as big a part of the game as possible; how this will turn out though, is hard to say, it will likely be hard to get those who "gfto" to get the **** back in.

If SE don't do something to make PvP grow, it will just die as the o mighty ninja skilled players such yourself get bored of it and quit.

Your wrong on all accounts miiyoaoi this is to appease the masses that complain pvp is unfair and unbalanced. This is to balance pvp as a whole and bring new people into pvp not scare them away please do more research before you just blurt out about everything. So many people want match making and rating and that's the reason most rank 30s left because there is no incentive no rating no match making systems. On the other hand we do have pve hero's who only grinded pvp for the look of the gear and those are the people who made pvp hell. Because they didn't care if they won or lost they just wanted the skin and that's not the mentality pvp needs. Again do more research before you make comments on how its gonna make things worse

Sorry but you'll have to find a r30 to quote you on this. I'm sure if asked why they left it's simply because they got the gear they wanted. They give 0 crap about rating/matchmaking as they can curb stomp the majority of players @ r30 and get points faster. There are occassional fun battles when matched with an even team, but it's few and far between. I have yet to hear anyone say they pvp for fun. You can not promise me enough ppl will come back, or how fast more ppl will come to pvp due to changes. It could be another half a year before pvp is "fixed" and word gets around. So the matchmaking could be a total disaster for current players.

Actually, I left because SE really screwed up allowing 3-mans to queue with solo queues. Had a few days of fun when everyone was queuing solo, they were popping really fast for everyone, but then more and more 3-mans started to crop up and that was the end of that.

The PvP community isn't large enough on most servers to get a good 3-man of 30s going, unfortunately, so you're stuck going against 3 mans all day if you want to PvP at all. Even if this wasn't the case, pre-mades should not be able to queue against full pug groups IMO.
