After taking a couple months off due to the death of my FC, I decided to try coming back tonight, but hit a major snag. Wanting to get away from a toxic environment on my current server and start over with a fresh crowd, I found that the transfer service would not let me move without losing most of my gil. It was enough that I had to disband my rank 5 FC, which I had worked so hard on, but losing the millions of gil I had saved since 1.0 just to get away from a toxic environment--a move that would have cost me $$, too--it was just too much.

You've created a fun world with 2.x. I loved all the quests, dungeons, and solo content. I'm sure all the upgrades I've missed have been great. I regret that I'll miss future expansion areas--one of my favorite parts of FFXI. I'm going to miss the Final Fantasy brand, but at this point, I'm done with online games and consoles. Thanks for the years of fun (as frustrating as most of it was with the online communities)... starting from FFI.

And I agree limiting 1 million gil per transfer is stupid when the houses are so ridiculously expensive.

What he could do is upgrade his account to have multiple characters per server, then move most of his wealth to the alt characters; 1 mil a piece.

Then transfer all the characters to the new server as you need their cash.

My FC bought a lovely small house in the Goblet, with a daily income around 20k per player and 6 players (dailies, dungeons, 2 crafters and some peisteskin on week end), and we made it 3 weeks ago. 1.2m is currently 1/5th of a company house, so I don't think there is a need of more. You aren't supposed to buy a FC house, nor a personnal house, right away anyway.

forgive me for being cynical, but i will believe it when your character has been deleted and account deactivated. Also, good luck interacting with people on the internet. If you thought the player attitude here was bad, you might be in for a surprise.

a big paradox : Your gils are more important than your character or the game but if you stop this game , what will happen to your gils ?

Ive been floating around my server with 20k for the last month, gear is free so all you pay is transportation, food and repairs.

So you would sacrifice the whole experience over losing virtual money that you dont really need to play anyway, that's confusing.

If you have had enough of the people, I get that, but as for no games and no console games?
