All of the gear in that PvP image exists or has been shown off, and can be worn in that combination. Point to you for the other image though, there are a few discrepancies there.

None on the level of an entirely non-existent class though. Most studios would not let something like that slide by, I guarantee you if it was not intentional this would have been caught. Especially when this very team has announced Scholar in the same way. Also, this image is less in the category of abstract promotional art, and more in the category of "showing off a feature" namely the Leviathan battle, these images are often the most accurate, notice the PvP image being accurate to team size and composition. Notice that in the image in question, the OP image, there are 8 players, 2 tanks, 2 healers and 4 dps. Some new gear is being shown off along with the glamour system.

Looking at the image, I see (Clockwise): Scholar, Dragoon, Paladin, White Mage, Monk, Warrior, Black Mage, ???. Only ones missing (to be the top left class) are Bard and Summoner.

Read the OP: To dispel the immediate knee-jerk reactions, keep in mind, GLA has not had a new dagger added to the game since 1.0 and an "end-game" style "unique" dagger like the one in this image has never been in the game. Additionally, GLA never holds their dagger backwards like this.

This kind of proves her point though...just because they didn't add any new daggers doesn't mean squat...when is a Paladin's ultimate weapon a Dagger, especially in the Final Fantasy Series?

Also: None of us have poses like those characters either...so...holding a dagger backwards means jack all lol.

I'm confused, this sounds like you're arguing that this is not paladin as well?

Now that I look at the "dagger" closer, It looks like one of the new two handed allagan weapons. At least the color scheme matches, that'd be my guess.

I thought it was the new MNK leviathan weapons from the pictures on the loadstone where the MNK is holding the new Levia weapon. Makes sense since Leviathan is in the painting.

They do not outsource their concept art and just say "go wild"

I never ONCE mentioned them out-sourcing any art, Kazuya Takahashi and Akihiko Yoshida both WORK(ed) for Square Enix and did a fair bit of concept art for them. Not ONCE did I say they were out-sourcing. I challenged the fact that they might do a pick'n'mix on what looks best rather than "Is this best in slot", but obviously this is a moot point with the upcoming glamour system.

More importantly, bang goes the theory and here's my proof. You even said it yourself;

They have never drawn a wildly inaccurate player character using a weapon that obviously does not exist, in a manner that is obviously not possible, wearing equipment that is obviously not meant for the class.

So unless you can explain why that thief is wearing Vanya Breeches of Healing and a pair of acolyte boots....

Glamours are class restricted. War/Magic cannot glamour each others armour/weapons. (IE: War cannot wear Magic. Magic cannot wear War)

It's funny because I just pointed this out last night to my roomate when I saw it.
He is holding it quite weird for it to be a bow. And is holding it a lot like a hilt from a dagger.
Even though everyone I know was like "Thats the BRD" well the artists kinda did a bad job at
portraying that cause that is a damn dagger. -stares at the negative space in between the weapon and the shoulder-
