There is a low level male mage skirt/pants armor called Acolyte's Skirt and it is brown but the flared out shape is at least similar to the one that the miqote is wearing in the artwork, the one people are referring to as a skirt being a declaration of that miqote as female gender. So the skirt is not necessarily confirmation of female gender.

Also, in the game, it actually has pleats similar to a girl's school uniform skirt and flares out much more than the one pictured in the Acolyte Skirt armor info at the lodestone. Worn with knee high boots, it looks even more like a skirt because it hides the pant legs attached to the bottom part.

We'll get to see what happens in a few days and one side or the other will get its vindication.

But realistically, the argument against this being a thief or at the very least that being a dagger is getting more and more far fetched. A Dragoon? Are you serious? It looks NOTHING like a spear, the handle is extremely apparent, and he is holding it with the blade down from his hand. Just like a bow, the body of the spear would clearly extend into visible range.

There is nothing behind him, you can see the negative space with your own eyes if you pull your head out of your rear. The only question is whether or not we will see this new class in 2.2, not whether or not it is a new class. And I would be extremely surprised if this was a tease with a significant lead time. Surprises are much more up their alley than teases with huge leads.

No it does not, it clearly shows players sliding down the surface of the boat, which is being hit by a crashing wave. And yes, this does actually happen in the Leviathan fight.

People saying "it's simply artistic liberty" obviously haven't been paying attention to how careful they are with their promotional art.

Not to rain on the parade here (I really really want to believe that Musketeer is coming sooner rather than later), but the dagger honestly just looks like a sword held upside-down.
