One thing i have always enjoyed in any game i play, especially mmo's is being able to swim. if swimming were to be implemented, i feel i would never get bored of this game..which is already starting to be an issue. there are so many places where i see water and just wanna jump in and explore it..but alas..invisible wall as usual -.- . i know a lot of others who want the same, so ya really cant go wrong by implementing it. if it ends up never being added..there are always other mmos we can go to that does offer it. just something to think about. ^^

This could have been an option if SE would have kept FFXIV's world one big zone, instead of the tiny little pieces we're stuck with now that dont connect properly.

It hasnt been build as one big zone and then split up. It's been build as several tiny zones that are interlinked, the orientations dont match up well on most things either.

So no, you can forget about diving into the water in limsa and swimming to shore. I would have loved one big world-zone, but SE seems to have a problem with that.

Plenty of MMO's out there for you. So enjoy.

I like the idea but SE would have to expand some areas which might cause problems.

A solution might be that FFXIV could have a "Pool" area where you go in, relax, or swim a bit and it's just a big spot to hang out at while not worrying about monsters or duties.

Adding swimming in general would be nice... Zones with water deep enough that you'd have to swim in them to get across, things of that sort. Or hell a swimming beach vacation area - Or, in the case of current zones - the ability to swim out to a certain point (after a certain point either fatique or just a blank wall of nothingness). I am quite disappointed there isn't swimming in some way, shape, or form. It breaks away from the immersion to not have it. There are ways of implementing it without having to introduce one big world map.
