A gil reward has been added.

    Thank you SE

With the release of patch 2.1 and the very soon up coming 2.2 i would like to express my feelings in regard to 2.1

2.1 they released Haukke Manor HM, and Copperbell HM.

These dungeons were pretty much instantly pointless.

The gap for gear before was i70 then instantly to i90.

The only gear between pre patch 2.1 was i80 non "zenith" relic.

Then they released these dungeons (Except The Labyrinth of the Ancients) and they dropped lower level gear.

If the Devs are unable to place higher level gear in the dungeons please put something there that makes it worthwhile.

A chest at the end that drops 5-10K gil+ per player maybe?

Something to have purpose beyond running it once for the exploration achievement. I actually like Haukke Manor Hard Mode etc but its not popular and no one runs it, because there is no reason to run the dungeon.

Please dont make Brayflox and Amdapor instantly pointless. (Or any future content.)

    Thank you.

Good points, but I think you may be looking at it a little too laterally. While, yes, anyone who's already worked their way up to i90 gear might not find running the dungeons all that useful, full i90 players (even if it's easy to achieve now compared to the past) are still the minority. Every addition/patch to the game is not meant to be solely for endgame content. As I always say, a balance must be maintained between providing endgame content for those at that point, and something to help others who aren't there get there. Otherwise, all that new stuff just becomes something for non-high level players to look at and say "wow, a bunch of stuff I'll never get to do because I'm stuck at x" or "don't have the time/experience/gear to get to".

Not to mention, many endgamers reach the top, strip the game down to a by-the-numbers routine, then repeat ad nauseum (log on Monday, run Coil for tomes, run CT for loot [needed or not], maybe help some FC mates with primals, log off til next week). Or worse, simply get bored and leave the game, complaining of lack of content. There's plenty of content, but if it's all done like a weekly chore, then no, it's not fun, and yes, it would get boring. Hence hard mode dungeons/new dungeons/primals/side quests/etc.

In the end, the question for endgame content-minded players is, are you playing to enjoy playing or just grinding for loot/tomes, or to be one of the "firsts" to do something? I ask because I'm up there too, but I'm enjoying every minute of it regardless. . .

    Simply put..

    Item level progression should be:

    i50>i55>i60>i65>i70>i75>i80>i85>i90>i95 etc

(this is coming from a 1.0 player also)

    not:

i50>i55>i60>i70>i90>i60>i80>i95 (this is the order gear was released.)

If the new dungeons cannot drop progressive gear then i'm simply asking it drop gil or some other item. Or dont release Coil before CT is ready? Idk just something that is a little more sensible

(on a side note i dont play just for gear personally. I am going for achievements and other things and do leves for DoH even though i'm all 50's across the board, as such an example.
The reason i'm asking that the new dungeons dont drop i60 is because we need other stuff like gil in the game. Gil is very difficult to come by. Sure there are a handful of players who dont have an issue making gil cause they work the market but a majority of players suffer from lack of gil.)

The homogenous gear drops is also a problem. Scholar BIS is mostly Myth gear which makes Coil almost moot except to help others and see the content, T5 drops weapon at least. SMN either takes mostly Myth gear for crit set or a mix of Allagan and Myth for DET set. Most of the healing gear out of CT is better for WHM than SCH. MYTH accessories are BIS for a lot of jobs until EX primals are beat. So, itemization for class gear could have been worked out better.

I really am going to hate to grind the new tomestones solely because they may be BIS for all my gear needs/upgrades. Sort of makes gear progression, well, not very progressive and makes the game more grindy than it needs to be, at least for some classes.

Remember pre-2.1 grinding AK WP? The hard modes and CT are progression steps that were missing and you dont know what drops from the new ones yet, they werent added specifically for you.

I think the new dungeons add more variety for those who want it. Maybe it is safer and quicker to farm WP for tomes, but you have the alternative of going to these other dungeons or doing the roulette (more tomes, more risk.) This is my first MMO. I have noticed (to my surprise) that, since in DF you don't know what group you will find, repeating dungeons you already know well (i.e. WP) is in fact different every time, it's not like grinding in a solo play game. If you fall on a group of exp players, all goes fine and quick, which is nice. A group with ranged DPS is different than one with melee, or mix. An exp healer makes life so much easier. If there are new players, things are more difficult, but it's a change, and usually ends well anyway. The bad part is dungeons where new or undergeared players may make the win quite more difficult. This makes early quits much more frequent, life more difficult all in all, and people tend to avoid the place.

Essentially this. People complained about the only viable place to gear up being Amdapor Keep...so they added two new places you could go too.

The new dungeons are run for tombs, doesn't make them useless. If every new dungeon drops stuff better then everything before it, older content will be invalidated immediately. If we are always going to be grinding tombs I would much rather there be variety. What level do you want these new dungeons to drop gear?

Well maybe they should make more of the new items trade friendly that drop in these dungeons. This means even if the gear isnt good for you, you could still use it for making gil off it and another player gets to pay gil to gear themselves up.
