Because they're obviously not. Str increases damage, and dtr increases damage. The game adds a +/- 5% randomness to the final damage. Then it checks RNG again for crit%.

It's always hilarious (and depressing) when someone doesn't understand simple mathematical concepts, eh? I'd try to show that person (xEscaflownex) that it's as simple as phase-shifting the graph of a function, but even that's probably too difficult to grasp.

Shrug. He's just observing something but making too many assumptions. Not a big deal. At least he's willing to out and test stuff and compare. Most people aren't.
For that matter, I don't know what phase-shifting the graph of a function means, although I may have back 15 years ago, lel.
It also depends on which parse you're using, this is true. In fact, the only truly accurate way to see how you fare is to find another MNK you know is good, or claim to be good, and parse in the exact same fight with both using the exact same parser. Both of your results will likely not completely agree but the relative difference in DPS should be about the same.
I've been pretty frustrated with my MNK DPS. For some reason I've been finding it impossible to get much higher than 335-340 on dummies, and I'm i88. I've tried tons of different opening rotations, clipping DoTs vs. not clipping, etc, but I just can't break past right around there. I'm really not sure why.

Breaking past 340-350 starts to be more about optimal gear set, food, etc. You also get a bit higher if you can do a longer run, like using 2 invigorates for uninterrupted ~4:10 min run, but a dummy parse isn't really that important. If you can pull 340 on a dummy, it just means you're doing the simple things right. Live fights have a lot more variables that affect performance numbers like AoE, multi-DoTing, keeping GL up, directionals, timing buffs, party setup. And in the end live is all that matters, so get good at it, your base is fine.I've been pretty frustrated with my MNK DPS. Curious if anyone's run into any problems with ACT. Earlier today, I was playing for a good while then a few hours in, I notice that my DPS on parse was much much lower than normal. I'm at about 330 on a striking dummy normally, but after I noticed this drop it was triggering only about 215 DPS. I ran a few Turn 2s and DPS was low as well, in like the low 200 range. I rebooted client, ACT, reinstalled ACT, restarted PC and same issue. I then hopped on my laptop and tested there and sure enough I was hitting my normal 330ish DPS on striking dummy, but my desktop was giving out this wonky 215 range.
Any ideas why this might be happening? Is there a known issue about something like this and is there something I can do to fix this?

this has happened to me a couple times, where i would reach 300 dps after like 3 minutes or something silly, when i'm usually higherCurious if anyone's run into any problems with ACT. i'm not sure why though
I parse about 405 on my Monk give or take a few depending on RNG over 4mins30sec.

Atomos is the best practice dummy. Cad and Titan EX are the best generic practice. Levi EX is the best practice after you can auto/afk your regular attack sequence.
