    Thank you guys I really appreciate all the help and it makes me real happy to see that there are people in this community who are always willing to help newbies like myself. Just made a Plainsfolk Archer over on the PS3. I know they don't have the best Dex but they look cool so I went with that haha!

    Racial statistics at the start of the game are actually ultimately irrelevant in the long run, unlike FFXI, so don't be afraid to go with a race and class combination you like but which might appear at first to be 'odd' (gear ultimately boosts your stats anyway so whatever tiny difference in DEX for instance will easily be made up in the gear you equip). If you want a roegadyn CNJ for instance, do it!
