This sounds like the most likely way it will work in my opinion. The teleport fees are one of the biggest gil sinks in the game... allowing everyone to suddenly do it for free would affect the economy in a pretty significant way.

I mean its a nice gesture, but kida weak when coming at the heals of a flipping behemoth mount.

Free teleports forever makes more sense, but it kinda warps the balance of the game.

I'm laughing at all the people that actually think the one year veteran reward would be a free one time teleport..hahah...haHA...HAHAHA! OMG!!!

I'm fairly sure no one thinks it will be, but most of us are confused to what it'll actually do, because the description is not very well... descriptive, and it's described as you say, a one time free teleport, which would be a pointless veteran reward.

The thread is just asking for more details and confirmation from a mod to what it actually does.

In German it says:

"Nutzen Spieler, die ein Teleport-Ticket besitzen, das Ätherytennetz, wird der fällige Gil-Betrag nicht eingezogen. Stattdessen wird das Ticket verbraucht.
※ Dieser Gegenstand verschwindet nach Gebrauch."

Stattdessen = instead

So it basically says: If a player in possession of a ticket uses teleport, it takes the ticket instead of the gil.

If it means anything, the original Japanese says:

転送網利用券を所持している状態でテレポを実行すると、ギルを消費せずにテレポできます。
※本アイテムは消費アイテムです。

Which translates to

"When teleporting while in possession of the aetheryte ticket, the teleport will not consume gil. *This item is a consumable item*"

Basically the same as the English version. The implication is that it's a one-use item, not something like a mount or minion item. Perhaps you'll get a stack of it or something.

YoshiP said that 1 year reward was going to be "special." Consumable item is worthless and is far from special. I think it's an item that give you a permanant trait that makes teleportation no longer cost any gil.
