Anyone who's complaining about free things are the spoiled children in life... Its free. It's a nice reward. And if you idiots keep it up they just won't give you anything. And honestly, as much as I appreciate them giving us things for being subbed, I hope they take them all away. Why? Because then maybe you people crying will realize not to look a gift horse in the mouth.

People probably wouldn't care as much if it wasn't hyped up by Yoshida as being a special reward for 1 year, and if they didn't literally just announce a much better and helpful reward for doing something you should already be doing, adding a security token.

I think they should do what you said and "take them all away". You log in one day, *BOOM* all your items have been confiscated! And you are locked in a dark room, on a chair facing the corner while wearing a "dunce" cap. The next whole year of playing the game, you'll have to play it just like that! If you dare to stop subscribing to the game, guess what? Police come to your house and make you sit in the corner of your room in real life.... Oh yea, That's what you all deserve!

Not that they can change it now but this would have been a good reward earlier in the sub chain by the time people get to this point they will already have established Gil flow trivializing it. Good item for new characters, inventory -1 for everything else. If they do mix up the rewards this would be a great placement swap with the current 30 day item fantasia.

I think the heart of the argument here isn't the fact that we are getting something for free, but that what we are getting can not be used to show others our commitment to the game. When someone is walking around with a behemoth minion then you know that the person has the CE. A Cait Sith minion shows a person who pre-ordered the game and so on. I feel that all other vanity rewards (minions, mounts, barding) provide variety and personalization to individuals and the world. Giving us a few free teleports that will either sit in inventory or disappear over time compared to the visual rewards we have been getting is a let down in my opinion. The reward for using a security token didn't help this sentiment either.

First of all, you can already obtain multiple vanity items from defeating behemoth, so I don't know what your point is.

All my example was showing is that all rewards to this point have been something tangible, and at what would appear to be a milestone of the game to many, comes a relatively inexpensive consumable with no tangible value. The inconsistency alone is enough to make people say "huh?!"
