The elitism in this thread is amusing. FFXIV is not a hardcore game, nor does it have hardcore content or "pro" players. This game is WoW-levels of casual, and that's okay because it at least makes up for the embarrassment that was 1.0 and FF13.

So what you're saying is, someone that's doing really bad shouldn't be because the game is super-casual-no-pro-easy-mode-fun-time am I right?
I think what he is implying (and I agree with) is that if you are using this game as a way to prove you are "LEET GAMER PRO" than you are using a crappy metric.
To be fair, if you're basing any MMO pve as a metric to whether you're good or not you're doing it wrong. You either know your scripted fights & class mechanics or you don't.
On the other hand, given how relatively simple the mechanics of the fights are in this game, it's disturbing how many people are just plain awful.
Casual games breed casual players. The game holds your hand for everything up to Ifrit HM.
Thank you. At least somebody gets it.
