It can't be detected anyway, so anyone using them can avoid ever being detected by simply not admitting to it.You must of missed Yoshi talking about it.
FF14's stance on parser is, fight club rule.
If you want to test how ban-able it is, please be banned quickly.
IF enough of these threads go through they would have to start being active about it and ban everything related to parsing. Good Job for making that one step closer.
So yeah, it's not being made any closer by these posts.
Yes it can. developers just don't want to devote manpower to it. It's laughably easy to destory parser club, if not somewhat more harder. All they have to do is set up a banned program running thread, like 90% of the f2p mmo's out there.
Sure the parsing developers can defeat it, but can they defeat it every week? It would be the windower all over again. With the developer rage-quiting and put it off, abandon, and passing the hot potato.
They can't win lol, home brew apps would just keep adapting to any changes as they lose more and more money.Yes it can. developers just don't want to devote manpower to it. It's laughably easy to destory parser club, if not someone expensive. All they have to do is set up a banned program running thread, like 90% of the f2p mmo's out there.

They don't have to win, they just gotta make it so annoying, that everyone gives it up. That's what happened to windower. All SE did was re-point their memory every update(it takes minimal effort to do btw).
At first it was about 48hr before a new version of windower was up. Then it was 1 week, then it was 1 month, then the developer rage quit, and passed it to another developer, then that developer rage-quit, and the windower just got longer and longer between updates.
And no one quit over not using the windower, you're blowing smoke.
This is why it's easy to ban stuff like this. Which one will you run if given a choice? a parser for a game or the game itself? All the game maker has to do is make you choose.
Why would players need to access the combat logs outside of the client? All SE has to do it encrypt it within the client, and just rotate the encryption in their weekly update.

Well first of all I never even implied anyone quit over not having a parse, so don't put words in my mouth. They don't have to win, they just gotta make it so annoying, that everyone gives it up. Secondly, it's not banned now, and I would put all my chips in it staying that way, so everything you say means absolutely nothing until that changes.
Again rule of parser club is...don't talk about parser club.
So don't blame SE when they start taking moves to destroy parser club, due to over abuse.

Only way they could stop it is if they prevented players from accessing the combat logs. Which wouldn't make sense at all since there is a combat tab in the chat window for us to view.Yes it can. developers just don't want to devote manpower to it. So many wise players on these forums.
