that's my best way to explain it, it's not about not being able to tell them they are bad it's about using a parser to do it.
I dunno about that. Most people (including Yoshi) don't really seem have a problem with the parser itself, and aren't going to go out of their way to shut down the big bad third party program.. but they do have a problem with people stating numbers cause they make people uncomfortable, and those who usually bring up numbers in pugs aren't doing so in a kind manner. Didn't Yoshi say something along the lines of you can use it, but don't let anyone catch you using it and don't bring it up? Honest question there.

Parsers can be useful for healing as well, and tanking. You can pinpoint where most of the damage is occurring and find out if a tank isn't using cooldowns in the most effective manner. Or if a healer is running out of mana, but has a lot of over healing, you can find that out. They are an extremely effective tool, but only when used right.. and most people don't use them right, which has earned them a lot of hate.

I also think part of it is a lot of people don't play a tank or a healer because of all the pressure, and visibility of mistakes. It would make sense people wouldn't want that visibility also being applied to the dps class. That's just my take on it though.
