Most of the damage output is reliant on a proper rotation. There are signs a DPS is faltering based on what buffs they put on/debuffs they put on. Example: MNK losing GL3, DRG not having Heavy Thrust, BRD not keeping up Venomous/Windbite, etc. Obviously this is fairly fight-dependent and difficult to do, but a good leader will be able to keep track of a lot of things at once.

To be fair, it is not easy to catch dps derping a phase as oppose to an whole fight. But it is pretty obvious who it is, considering they will be making other mistakes in conjunction to just not damaging right.

SE's DPS checks are very very lenient. You can pretty much eyeball who is hitting what to know that a fail dps check means some one is hitting the wrong thing or out right dead.

Again I have seen parses of all dps going over 200 and the jail is still breaking late. It's impossible unless the epeen is fully active there and everyone is more interested in parsing their titan then doing the content.

Lol.. the devs allow us to export the combat log to a text file. There is no use for that except parsing. They clearly allow us to read combat logs and determine who is bad, its peoples poor treatment of others that is the issue.

And no you can't always detect it, someone could easily have the parsing file uploaded to dropbox and have another computer parsing it.
or like most MMOs, just rename the .exe and they can't find it anymore.

I mean I could claim I just added up all the numbers in the combat log and you looked bad, get out.
OR i could say look at the threat meter your bad, get out.

Harassing someone is never ok, but not wanting to play with horrible players is a reasonable idea. Getting replaced or kicked from the group is not the same as being harassed.

I don't think he was harassing you. He/she/it probably just noticed how bad your DPS was compared to what you should have been able to put out with your gear. And remember that there are people out there trolling, so it was a legitimate question.

Anyway, what is so bad about asking if someone is trolling? You would think he had kicked your dog or something the way you reacted to it.

It's nice to have tools that allow you to figure out what the problems are so you can improve your teams chances of victory. If a DD is doing a lot lower dps than the others and your team is failing to burn Titan's heart, then you know who needs to improve or kick.

This is a perfect example of how to NOT use a parser properly. Titans Heart.

You are taking an overall parse of damage through an entire fight and using it to judge someone for damage on a single burn phase. Are you accounting for the rock jail? Are you considering that they may have been saving dps cooldowns for the heart phase? Or that their cooldowns might have not been available at the beginning of the fight due to when you wiped during the last attempt?

Maybe for a T5 i understand. If its Primal fight even with a low dps it can be done. So many Ex fights in early days were won with like 5-6 players remaining.

if the low dps is very obvious, then i agree kick is granted, by if someone need a parser to see the -5% difference, thats a waste.

Again, it depends on the content, i don't think Primal or such lol like thornmarch should be even taken that serious as a hardcore dps check.

Only fight i would consider looking up report is T5, but that is if we suck on dps check areas, T5 usually been on fails during phases like twister.

I think people put too much into this DPS race where it is not required, for example, if a pt can kill a titan heart, that pt can kill titan. i don't care about dps after that(tho more dps is always better ofc), now its more about dodging mechanics.

But what's with this community? Why is everyone so overly sensitive here? Parsers have been in every mmorpg I've played for awhile now and no one cares. Even if their dps sucks they'll usually say "It's a game get over it" or "Whatever bro, you going to buy me a better weapon? Didn't think so" but here we have people crying and dry heaving over a toilet because they got kicked from a party. Now someone's feelings are hurt because their dps sucked? Have none of you ever played a mmorpg? Or had any real problems in life? >.>

Because it's fight club. Get over that it's illegal and wrong.

What? I already said I think they're bannable. I don't care if they are or aren't. I've never used one in any game and I don't see the point in them. My point was is really going to "/wrist" because someone said his dps was bad?

The OP's problem is the parser was being rude to him for his performance, which, many people have already said, isn't acceptable. But calling for them to be banned because of one jerk? That's ridiculous. Hence the "over sensitivity".

Saying his dps sucks, when he probably knows himself it's not up to par really isn't being rude. But my whole point was usually the person is question will say something back to shut the other person up and live continues. I just don't know why people get so hung up over something, that someone said and they don't even know the person and will never see them again. ._.

He wasn't being rude. He asked a legitimate question. Since there are people out there who troll dungeons.
