They can't win lol, home brew apps would just keep adapting to any changes as they lose more and more money.

Only way they could stop it is if they prevented players from accessing the combat logs. Which wouldn't make sense at all since there is a combat tab in the chat window for us to view.

Response to ENB Injector

Utilizing such a tool would not violate any agreements customers have with Square Enix, and we don't plan on doing anything to restrict users from accessing it.

However, we advise that players use this at their own risk. Square Enix does not regulate the content of the aforementioned add-on and will not be responsible for any damage or losses resulting from its use.

Response to VPN Software

The type of software you are describing in this thread doesn't appear to directly control anything for the FFXIV client, and as such isn't breaking any of the rules. Similar to other programs, 3rd party software is used at your own risk, and we recommend you employ your best judgement when running software not mentioned in the user agreement.

User Agreement

2.1 Cheating and Botting. You may not create or use any unauthorized cheats, bots, automation software, hacks, mods or any other unauthorized software or hardware designed to modify the Game and gameplay. In addition, you may not take advantage of game system bugs and exploits during gameplay.
2.2 Real Money Trading, Farming and Power-Leveling. You may not sell, purchase or exchange for real-world money or value any in-game currency, accounts, characters, in-game services, or in-game virtual items. You may not play the Game for the purpose of acquiring virtual items or advancement in game play on behalf of a third-party or for the purpose of selling any virtual assets to a third party for real-world money, specifically including "gold-farming" and power-leveling services.
2.3 Commercial Use. You may not exploit the Game for any commercial purpose (for example, advertising any product or service in-game, or use by the operator of a cyber café) without Square Enix's prior written consent.
2.4 Private Servers. You may not create, operate, participate in or use any unauthorized servers intended to emulate the Game.
2.5 Data Mining. You may not intercept, mine or otherwise collect information from the Game using unauthorized third party software.
2.6 Hacking and Circumvention. You may not hack, disassemble, decompile, or otherwise modify the Game or server computer code, whether the Game code is located on a DVD, Blu-rayTM disc, your computer/console or on Square Enix's servers, except as expressly permitted by Square Enix or applicable law.
2.7 Modifying or Creating Derivative Software. You may not modify or cause to be modified any files that are a part of the Game or Service in any way not expressly authorized by Square Enix, and may not make any derivative works of the Game.
2.8 Commercial Spamming/Spimming. You may not use (or abuse) the in-game chat and message services to distribute advertisements.

- ENB Injector is called an injector for a reason
- It doesn't directly control anything in the FFXIV client
- It does not automate any ingame processes
- Harassment is harassment, period.

Thank you for the link, much appreciated! Only thing I find conflicting though it really starts going into grey area, it seems they broke their own statement then as they responded to ENB Injector and VPN Software. As they officially responded to those and didn't decline comment.

Regardless, my main point is rather simple in this topic and also the main point of the topic and not even in direct response to you kukurunei. Users and Bots generate harassment. 3rd party software or not harassment is against the User Agreement and by all means reportable.

Probably. SE is hellbent on coddling and hand-holding all the players who can't handle anything that isn't bubblegum-flavored sunshine and cotton candy rainbows. God forbid FC's should be able to constructively use parsers within their own raid groups as too many softies might have their little feelings hurt when some socially inept type with a big mouth says something derogatory about their low damage in a random group of strangers.

Frankly, if someone is capable of doing something as permanent as committing suicide (which, by the way isn't really appropriate for these forums, IMO) over something stupid someone said to them on the internet (or even IRL), they are most likely going to try it due to other difficulties later in life unless they get some serious help. Our society is raising a generation of people who are ill-equipped to deal with the serious difficulties (such as life-threatening illness, the loss of a child, being homeless, being assaulted, etc) they will possibly have to endure throughout their lifetimes. Is it right to treat someone poorly? No. But, is it the fault of the person running off at the mouth if the recipient decides they need to do something that drastic? No. We are all responsible for our own actions. The sad thing to me is that we have let our society get to the point where we even have terms like 'cyber-bullying' and that people are now so susceptible to overreaction to such small, insignificant things. Unless your physical well-being is being threatened or taken from you by force, shrug that shit off and move on. Thin skin is not conducive to the continuation of a species.

Its the minority that use parsers, let alone get upset that your doing less damage than others.
