/w you are not alone. They do not care. I have seen it reported in several threads since October last year and have experienced it myself on ps3 even, where they cannot blame it on rig issues. People stop complaining about it and SE considers it resolved, but it is because people give up and quit playing. I am at that point myself. World of Warcraft rarely gave me this issue and I am considering going back. WoW is coming out with a new patch later this year! Something to think about SE, if you're listening...

In most cases, the issue is completely out of SE's hands to address-- as it is an issue either with our ISP's networks or who they have partnered with to carry our data to other networks. Our ISP's have a means to address such issues through their agreements with those providers, not SE. It can be hard to get them to move forward though if you can't provide data supporting such a claim though--you may need to run traces to your server and other services that show both good and bad transit to convince them of the need to take action. But it is a known problem that our ISP's are responsible for maintaining, even though they rarely admit it.

There have been posts over the last month for this very issue at the TWC forums for LoL, D3, WoW, FFXIV, Netflix, Google, youTube, Yahoo, Twitch, JustinTV, Hulu, GW2... even their Video On Demand through the cable service, as it can potentially impact the digital video broadcast if it is something specific to TWC's network segments. The point is, it isn't isolated to JUST FFXIV... but it is a systemic problem for specific regions in North America (Ohio is REALLY hosed lately for TWC, not to mention the critical NY, Chicago, and LA corridors).

There is also the issue of everyone posting in this forum expecting SE to get involved. This is not a method for contacting SE for support... it is for user-to-user support, as descriped in the forum guidelines in the sticky that welcomes you to this forum. For addressing SE to report problems or feedback, need to us something like the bug report, general, feedback forums or submit a ticket through the portal. The portal can be accessed from the support button at the bottom of the launcher (gold question mark).
