Grinding on mobs is still very doable at all level ranges, just a bit more tedious work with having to wait for some respawns, finding some of the mobs and run from one mob to the next.Still forgetting quest hubs. The lack of mentioning them though... leads me to believe they might not be in this patch though as previously stated.
If that is the case, it's time to go out there and grind in the field. Or quit. Both are pretty viable options. We'll see how things work out. For the best, I hope.

Oh yes. For a few previous classes, I went out there with a few friends and when we didn't have leves we'd grind starting at around R33-35. It is completely doable. However, many questions and new topics have been made regarding a simple question. What is the main vision for FFXIV's progression style? I've yet to get a straight answer. No one way is equal. There could be many choices in ways you could rank up, but it's tough to say they are all equal. What is their ideal main way in rank progression? It's amazing how often this question does not get a direct answer.

yes, right now it is viable when you are the only group in the area grinding those mobs for hours. what happens when all of a sudden you have 5 parties in the same area trying to grind the same mobs with the horrible respawn rates they have? they will no longer be a viable way to level. remember when people go to grind they do so for hours at a time.
if i go out there and there's a group already in the area i am just going to try to out claim them and make them leave. the next group will do the same. eventually you will have 5+ groups trying to claim the same set of long spawn mobs. your grinding you do now is going to drastically drop in sp per hour.
the respawn rates and areas to party for groups should have been done before they took away the way groups level now. i can understand the giving solo's more to do, but to do it at the expense of the parties is beyond moronic. if they didn't have anything ready to go in and supplement the parties it's another half baked idea.

I've got to disagree with this. Grinding is certainly possible right now. But there aren't enough mobs, and the respawn rate is too low. So many areas will not support grind parties. And there are very few areas that will support more than one grind party.
So when you take out leves, and everyone in the game has to grind? Grinding is not going to be doable.
Of course, maybe they're aware of this. Maybe 1.18 will include significant changes to mob distribution and respawn rates, so grinding will become viable. But that would take some pretty significant changes.
It's a self-fulfilling solution. There won't be enough mobs so players will get bored and quit. Once some people quit then there will only be enough players left to form one party. Only the strong (or determined) survive.I've got to disagree with this. Grinding is certainly possible right now. But there aren't enough mobs, and the respawn rate is too low.
