Likely them going with the 'this isnt ffxi' that they keep saying, in order to get people to stop calling stuff by the ffxi term for the item.

Well my thought on that was they wanted the upgrade to be named, because just saying +1 gives no sense of ending. Zenith can mean upwards or the highest form. X Zenith is the highest that X can get. If the relics can be upgraded further, and they get a new name or transform into something else entirely, then it'd make sense.

Instead of just calling it X +2.
