Looks like the next level of Relic is about to come..

As per the letter of the Producer:

Other features coming in patch 2.2 include master recipe books for crafters, gardening for free company estates, new hair styles, retainer ventures, big fishing, a challenge log, new mounts, and more. Disciples of War and Magic may also want to dust off their relic weapons if they aren't still using them, as an opportunity to unlock their true powers will present itself.

Thoughts? What do you think; just stat increases or will they borrow from FFXI and add an ability of sorts?

Discuss below! Personally, a wicked ability that isn't too gamebreaking would add some flavor to the weapon.

I think it's silly for them to talk about "true powers" this early on. Because there's no way this is the last round of Relic upgrades, and it's going to feel cheap if we keep unlocking their true, no for real we mean it this time powers.

But anyway. I hope it's something cool and not just a stat/glow upgrade, but I'm not holding my breath. New abilities, random procs, enhancements to existing abilities would all be very cool.

I hope it has a new look (glow, etc). I don't even have Relic or Relic +1 (waiting on tomes) but I hope it looks hawt.

I believe it is going to be an Upgrade. these relics we have are some of the classical ultimate weapons used in FF.

My guess?

We will use these new tombstones to upgrade Relic to +2.

I rather have my old gear get upgraded to contain skill such as "Reduce Jump Recast" "Enhances Blood for Blood" then a run of the mill generic Polearm.

I'd hope that part of the process is combining the relic+1 and primal EX weapon since then it forces people to do something other than grind myth/new tomes.

Now that is an interesting idea... would give me a reason to buy those ugly as sin books and omnirod /shudder

I am going to assume we will just get another... 'glow' type, but having a real graphical change would be really cool.

Perhaps its more realistic to expect that in future upgrades though...

Hmmm... Looks like i have a reason to spend myth on my MNK Zenith weapon now. Gonna have to put the Hellish Claws to rest? I'll be very annoyed if we dont need a Zenith to upgrade though.

Rather then using +1, +2, +3, and the like they probably going to use latin suffixes to indicate how powerful or close to true completion they are maybe. I think that makes the naming scheme a little better myself. Maybe be like Alpha, Beta, Omega, and other things in the future.

If they keep going with foreign names like Zenith, I don't think they'll switch to the greek alphabet and go on with alpha, beta and so on.
