    Make some craftable items be untradable.

    It's a bit of a crazy idea, but im throwing a hail mary since crafting in this game is about the most rewardless thing there is.

    My suggestion is to make it so that some items can only be obtained and used, if you crafted them yourself. Maybe make it so that only some vanity gear is crafted/untradable. The way I see it, this would actually make crafting more enticing, and would motivate more players to level their crafting classes. Furthermore, those that do level their crafting classes will feel more rewarded. This would also slightly help the economy because more players leveling their crafters, more materials are being bought.

    I know some people will be opposed to the idea. But i think that crafting is quite fun in this game. And quite frankly it isn't that hard to level when you take advantage of rested XP, the XP manuals, and leves.

    Nice idea i'm all for it. Crafters only in it for the gil wont like your idea though.

    Some people loathe crafting, it is more boring than a smoothly geared Casual Tower run. IMO bad idea.

    While untradable items would surely limit the ways of obtaining the item, the item value itself really depends on what it does.

    If the item is only for vanity, like the event items, then it won't really hold the attention of any crafters at all. It'll just be craft it once, and never touch it again.
    If the item was a consumable, like lets say the Keeper's Hymn, which resets your class stats, then it'll have a longer life span. Though, a bad item example, since people usually don't keep resetting stats.

    Even though it is self-serving, it needs to have something to keep the crafter wanting to keep making it.

    I loathe dailies. And because of that i will never get any of the beast tribe mounts. Thats how MMOs are. if you are not willing to do something, you unfortunately miss out.

    Even though it is self-serving, it needs to have something to keep the crafter wanting to keep making it.
    If it was hard to make, but could make a i100 or i105 item with materia slots, such that giving it materia would make it almost the same as i110 gear, you'd only make it once (per class I guess), but people would jump through hoops for the chance to do it. And making it untradable and some sidegrade to the coil and new tome gear makes it something avoidable, while making it worthy (unlike the i70 crafted, which is pretty much vanity only).

    This only encourages everyone to level crafting classes.

    What crafting needs is more things people want to buy from crafters. Not more crafters with nothing to do.

    Could work combined with a craft request feature, like the meld request.
    The customer farm all the mats, put them in the craft request ui and then a crafter can craft it for him without that the mats need to be traded. Maybe also with a reward for HQ and a penalty for NQ
