Question about Steam FFXIV

Is there anyway to integrate my stand alone final fantasy XIV to steam? I am currently using the method of launching it in the non-steam game method but I would like to have it officially in steam and I don't want to buy another copy on steam just to get it working there completely

My wife and I bought two copies of FFXIV - one outside of steam and one through steam (fully steam integrated). She started a few weeks before I did. When we added FFXIV to steam, we had massive problems getting the game to launch. We kept getting the dreaded "Unable to complete version check" message to the point we couldn't even launch the game at all, it was fully stuck. We took FFXIV off of steam completely and it works just fine. Now I just launch the standalone game that my wife purchased and I simply just put my login information into the launcher and I can play it without any problem outside of steam.

Now I apologize that I can't answer your question directly about whether you can get FFXIV fully integrated into steam, just be warned that having it so was only massive headaches for me.

If you mean integrated with achievements then no because that's part of the reason you buy through steam but if you mean to list it in with your collection of games then sure you can do that with any game you wish to add to your steam library.

Other than running as a Non-steam game, no, there isnt a way. Can always buy through steam, and give the key to someone new to use for 30 days (accounts arent locked).
Though, there seems to be no point to the steam version. It updates through steam, which is a bit behind (so you have to patch it yourself anyways), and steam only counts the launcher as a steam game (doesnt lock you from running other stuff from steam after you launch the game, but still counts you as playing it)
