    Fishing fatigue: why exactly?

Seeing SE encourages us to beat our personal records fishing larger fish every time, to mooch, to get our Luminary Rod, to get our HQ achievement, all of which takes quiet a lot of time on a same spot/node, and considering RMTs rather go botanist or miner, I ask:
What is the point of the fatigue?
Why does SE make us fish quiet a lot for all the above mentioned, but forces us to take a break, move to a diferent spot, and reset the fatigue?
And why is it that precisely the gathering jobs that actually are full of RMTs, i.e. botanist and miner, have no fatigue at all? This is not a suggestion to give these jobs fatigue, I'm against all these limits SE has put in since the beginning like the exp penalty we used to have in v1.
It's just that fisher is a very nice job, it relaxes me and I love beating my own record every time, but seeing how it was designed sometimes (I'm not going into GP even), it makes me wonder why this fatigue is even part of it.

you know u can take 2 steps to the left/right and cont to fish right?
as for min/btn you are constantly running node to node only getting 4/5 hits in VS fsh standing there and casting 99x + in 1 spot

I've left the zone, logged out, gone to bed, got up the next day, went to work, come home, done other random stuff in game, come back to the previous fishing hole, and the fish still sensed something amiss.

Short Answer: It is an anti-botting measure.

Long Answer: If there wasn't fishing fatigue it would be easy for a bot maker to make a bot armed with a lure that auto-fished until its inventory was full, whereupon it would teleport to the nearest vendor sell its catch, mender gear and then return to fishing.

It's not 2 steps, it's more like 10 steps. I usually have to move to the other end or something before I stop getting the message (edited to add: this means that if you start fishing in the middle of a given spot, you're kinda screwed). On the small spots, though, you have no choice but to go somewhere else.

Not that tricky for a good scripter.

A friend wrote a fishbot for FFXI 6ish years ago that could:
    1, isolate any fish.
2, when full walk into town and sell the fish.
3, return to its spot and if that exact spot was occupied find another close by.
4, follow GM instructions and carry on a 5 minuet conversation with a GM.

I don't know about "2 steps to the left/right", I do know you have to fish just once in a dif node, which can be close or far. But that's not the point of the question. The question (wether you can reset fatigue easily or not) is why the fatigue is there in the first place. Also botanist and miner have a direct impact on the economy, directly selling raw materials or converting into crafted items, whereas on fisher you can only make profit with those fishes used in food, so in the end, a waste of time for RMTs. So again, an anti-RMT measure for a job that is not (yet) heavily plagued by RMT?

I hate this limitation as well, especially for one of the weirder things about it: Fish while queued for CT, maybe cast about 5 times, CT queue pops, change job, do CT, return, switch back, instantly get "fish notice something amiss" message. ...then walk 10' and keep fishing.

Because this was the problem in FFXI which fishing worked less robustly but very similar to FFXIV. It was autopilot income for them
