Is Garuda Ex a good filter for DFing Titan Ex??

Hello all

I was really wondering if Garuda Ex is some kind of filter for unskilled people in DF to do Titan Ex and Ifrit Ex IN DF. I mean, i've done like 30-40 Garuda Ex runs (50%-50% FC and DF) and finally beat it in FC group. Is is safe to assume that Titan Ex in DF could be possible in DF? I understand that you can get carried in Titan HM but I really don't think you can get carried in Garuda Ex. Hence my assumption that ppl must be good in Titan EX DF

Seeing as people are selling Ex Primals kills then yeah, you CAN get carried through Titan Ex. Its not that Titan Ex is harder or easier than any other fight, its that you have very LITTLE room for mistakes, making it harder.

It's not a good filter. The challenges in Garuda Ex are mostly strategic, who pulls what, where to position, and so on. Titan Ex is a very strict personal performance test, that requires good timing with dodging and good basic job skill to perform in your role while doing the dodging.

Titan Ex being the hardest primal of the three, you would expect people to be good by Ifrit Ex but alas...

I'm saying that because I see SOOO many people fail at Garuda Ex, and there is no place for error in the garuda fight so i'm guessing that when you beat it, you must be some kind of good somewhere ... I guess

I DF'd all my primal EX wins. It took me 30 tries on Garuda EX, 50 times on Titan EX and 4 on Ifrit. As a healer, the problem with Titan usually was DPS falling off from Landslides, DPS not getting me out of jail in time, or DPS eating too many plumes or bombs and not having the HP to withstand tumults after raise.

Or their teammates are carrying them so hard they got past it. Seriously, I've seen people dying for the n-th times in Garuda and the group still clears. You can't tell if they got their kill in DF neither.

Having a primal i90 weapon is not a good enough filter for DFing any primal As stated before, the selling business means that having completed any fight in the game means nothing to your ability to play, as a rule. T5 is usually an exception as 7manning it is really pushing it.

On the other hand all ex primals can be 7manned very easily, especially garuda and titan. You actually have a LOT of place for error in garuda ex, except for the MT if he takes the add on top of garuda. The fight can be 1 healed, and 3 dps can be enough if they are really good i guess; so whatever your role, if you are in a good party, you can slack, and that isn't even counting for sell runs, as said.

Actually twintania has been downed with 3 dps 3 tank already (one was in dps jewelry but still...), so I think a non stupidly dying dps could be carried through T5, or at least will be easily be carriable in 2.2. He just has to make the dps output of a tank, which shouldn't be THAT hard for any dps role.. And not dying, that is..

3 dps @ 250 dps + 1 tank @ 150 dps + 2 tank @ 100 dps = 1100 dps
4 dps @ 250 dps + 2 tank @ 100 dps = 1200 dps
3 dps @ 250 dps + 2 tank @ 100 dps = 950 dps

Just to say that the gap between replacing a dps by a tank in dps stance with dps jewelry, and removing a dps altogether from the equation, is huge

Edit: yeah, if he dies not, sure, it's easy. But then again if you are not dieing for a whole TT run, youa re pretty good in my good -- not necessarily "godly", but still wayyy above average. Hence my point: if you did kill TT, it probably say something about your skill, while having killed titan ex or garuda ex says nothing

Not even sure why you would run 3 tanks on TT o__O If you were going to sell TT wouldn't going the 1 tank route be the easiest way? 1 Tank, 4 DPS, 2 Healers, 1 Buyer. Would pretty much assure that even if that 8th slot was on the ground the entire time, all mechanics can still be handled.
