[Petition] Change the fruits in Aurum Vale. No one wants to go to AV.

I have tanked everything up to Turn 4, but I'm pretty sure Aurum Vale is the worst dungeon in the game. I and other players refuse to go into it. I absolutely despised this encounter when I had to go through it as part of the story mode, and any time DF comes up with it I wait the timer out to abandon.

The problem is the first boss fight. I and many other players use the Playstation 3 version of the game. This means we're playing with a controller.



It is nearly impossible to select a fruit to remove the debuff stacks using a controller. This is because the game's target selection system has a horrid habit of attempting to select fruits that are out of range of your character (even at the back of the room!) before you can select the fruit sitting directly in front of your character. As a tank, I tend to die or lose aggro while trying to select a fruit sitting right in front of me.

The first time I attempted this dungeon, I wiped numerous times. People kept abandoning. I spent 4 hours trying to clear the dungeon until I finally managed to get super lucky and click on a fruit to clear the debuffs. Once.

For the good of the game, please change the way the fruits operate in the Locksmith fight. Make it so a character can walk into the fruit in order to trigger the cleanse effect.

There is no reason for the difficulty of the encounter to be based on the algorithm flaws of the targeting system for console players.

Anyone who agrees, please speak up and maybe the developers will listen. This is such a minor fix that could make a huge difference. This is the only part of the game where it was clear I had to have a mouse.

Edit: Do not respond giving advice about changing filters. Obviously if I am talking about the game selecting a fruit that is no where near my character, my filters are set to be able to select the fruits. That isn't the issue.

I'm pretty sure that Scholars aren't tanks, so if it takes you a little extra time to get a fruit it's not going to wipe the party.

Tanks have to maintain aggro. It's different. And then if we lose it because we were trying to target a fruit, we have to toggle through all the fruits to finally get back on the boss. By then it's a wipe.

If you're struggling to maintain aggro at the time you eat fruit...I hate to break it to you but you need to work on your tanking...

You tank the boss near the fruit and watch for stacks. AV is fine on PS3. And while you and I have different jobs I am managing myself and my fairy something that scares people away when it comes to pet jobs/class while keeping my party healed, mitigating damage and watching stacks.

Trust me OP I really hate to say this I mean really but you need to get better.

How do you deal with stacks on your pet? Last I remember when you at a fruit it didn't affect your pet and they would die so fast.

This is why we have swiftcast :P you should invest in it if you haven't already. Not sure there is much else you can do about it in those fights.

One of the patches fixed that. The pets don't take damage now. I just ran AV three times for a few FC members and never had to resummon.

What is "this means we're playing with a controller" supposed to mean? Zhi and Lute play with controllers and killed all the content in the game months ago.
