Why is Crafting still in the game?

Killing a boss 4 seconds faster is not even close to being useful. I can sell Mega-Potions of strength for 1k a piece, and it costs me nearly 4k to make 3. So I sell 3 for 3k, I lose 1k. All other potions sell for less than 300gil a piece and cost me 400+ to make. Why should I make potions when I lose money?

Last time I made them it cost 800 gil to make 3. Made my own shark oils these are stupidly expensive if you dont make your own. They have a 100% hq rate they sold for 1000 each. I was making 2200 gil a synth profit.

You aren't hard core enough if you don't want to preform at max dps, I sell these potions pretty well.

Server differences. Silver Sharks cost near 2k a piece at NQ, Hammerhead Sharks are near 1k a piece, that makes 1 Shark Oil. Plus the Shards to make them is another 50 gil a piece to make 1 Shark Oil. 3,050 Gil just for the Shark Oil. Now we need Sagolii Sage, easily enough to farm, and costs about 10 Gil, plus the 5 water and 6 lightning you need is another 110 gil, so in total to make 3 Mega-Potions of Strength is 3,170 gil. Now I can put them up for 1,000 gil a piece. So that is 3,000 before I lose 5% to the Market Tax. So I am making 2,850 Gil off of 3 Mega-Potion of Strength it just costed me 3,170 gil to make. That is a loss of 320 gil.

The only expensive about the shark oil are the silver sharks. It take time to catch them (you need first to catch a HQ living bait before you can catch a silver shark with it). More time if you don't have a fisher ready.
The hammerhead sharks are easy to catch at the silver bazaar.
