How do you kill that which has no life?"

    Just something funny...

I hear so many people throw around the term "no life" or "no lifer" in this game. Maybe it's been long enough that people don't remember, but there was a South Park episode where they parodied a player that never logged off and did nothing but harass players by doing bizarre things. Unless there was a earlier reference, that was where that expression came from.

This isn't a real person. I mean, sure, there are players that might come close but, that idea of a person who actually doesn't log out is kind of a joke. What would they really spend time doing in a game like FFXIV if they stayed logged in all the time? There are plenty of caps in this game to prevent anyone from gaining much of any benefit from doing that.

What do you guys think? Is it a real thing? I have yet to meet one. Most of all of us log out and budget what little recreation time playing only when we feel like it.

If such a person really did exist, I wouldn't mock them.... I'd kind of just feel bad for them that they had nothing else to do. Some people might stay logged in a lot. Maybe they are stuck home watching kids. Maybe they work from home. Maybe they don't have to work. But most likely they are just chatting if they even stay logged in for long. Grinding endlessly in this game gets you no where. Even if there was something they *could* do, it doesn't hurt me. It's their time, they can spend it how they want. At least they can interact with people in game, where as maybe otherwise they'd have less to do.

    That's why I don't call anyone a no lifer.
