    Unoriginal topic but... Limit Break ideas

    Just going to be blunt and just toss some ideas in here and see what everyone thinks.

    Everyone knows that the Tank, Healer, and DPS has a Limit Break they can do but what if we broke it down to each class?

    And please, lets try not to degrade anyone on this thread sense we are passing ideas.


    TANK
    Gladiator:
    [LB1] Mighty Swing
    A wide swing that deals 2300 damage and hits a single target that puts enmity against the enemy.

    [LB2] Lion's Roar
    Enemies nearby are drawn to you but you have an increase to inflict enmity on a enemy and a 30% increase to DEF + VIT for 20 seconds

    [LB3] Elephant Charge
    In a short straight line, you charge into enemies dealing 9000 damage and forces the enemy to attack you for 5 seconds.

    Marauder:
    [LB1] Reckless Swing
    You swing your ax at a single target dealing 2300 damage and places enmity on a enemy.

    [LB2] Grand Strike
    you slam your ax into the ground splitting the earth under yourself dealing 5000 damage against surrounding enemies, places enmity on enemies and stuns them for 3 seconds.

    [LB3] Last Stand
    You increase your DEF and ATK by 50% for 20 seconds and provoke all the enemies around you but you are stunned for 30 seconds afterwards.

    Paladin:
    [LB1] Blinding Light
    Enemies around you in a large radius are blinded for 15 seconds and have enmity while they also take 400 holy damage over time for 5 seconds

    [LB2] Guardian Angel
    Allies DEF increase by 20% for 5 seconds and skill speed for yourself is increased.

    [LB3] Sacred Aura
    The DEF of the party is increased by 20%, increases the healing done by healing spells by 30% for the entire party, and places enmity on all the enemies in the area.

    Warrior:
    [LB1] Demonic Slash
    Deals 2300 damage to an enemy and places enmity as well as stunning the target for 3 seconds.

    [LB2] Hell's Fury
    Deals 3500 damage to all enemies around you and places enmity on them and silences them for 1 second.

    [LB3] Underworld Prison
    For 15 seconds, your DEF increases by 20% and every enemy around you are forced to attack you and each time they deal damage to you they take 800 damage.

    HEALER
    Conjurer / White Mage:
    [LB1] Healing Wind
    Restores 25% of own HP and the HP of all nearby party members.

    [LB2] Breath of the Earth
    Restores 60% of own HP and the HP of all nearby party members.

    [LB3] Pulse of Life
    Restores 100% of own HP and the HP of all nearby party members including ones KO'd.

    Scholar:
    [LB1] Bubble Shield
    Erects a magicked barrier for the party which nullifies damage equaling to 25% of the characters HP for 30 seconds.

    [LB2] Fairy Guard
    Erects a magicked barrier for the party which nullifies damage equaling to 50% of the characters HP for 40 seconds.

    [LB3] Blessings of Nym
    Erects a magicked barrier for the party which nullifies damage equaling to 100% of the characters HP for 60 seconds and increases HP restored by healing magic for Party Members by 20%.

    DPS
    Pugilist:
    [LB1] Crouching Tiger
    Does 2300 damage to an enemy and increases basic attack speed and skill speed by 20% for 10 seconds.

    [LB2] Hidden Dragon
    Deals 5000 damage to an enemy and augments your attacks with mystical fire that deals 1500 more damage if attacking an enemy from behind for 15 seconds.

    [LB3] All Out Attack
    Deals 9000 to an enemy and if you are behind them, you deal 2000 more damage and stuns them for 5 seconds

    Lancer:
    [LB1] Boomerang Lance
    Throw your spear to deal 2300 damage to an enemy and stunning them for 3 seconds, then your spear returns to you.

    [LB2] Sonic Thrust
    Dash towards an enemy at high speed dealing 5000 damage and dealing 200 per second for 5 seconds.

    [LB3] The Rose of Chaos
    Deals 9000 to an enemy and binds them in place for 10 seconds. If you are behind the enemy, deals an extra 2000 damage and poisons the enemy dealing 100 damage per second for 15 seconds.

    Archer:
    [LB1] Magitek Crossbow
    Your bow transforms into a special crossbow that will fire an arrow that will pierce through enemies in a straight line dealing 1400 to any enemy caught in it's path.

    [LB2] Arrow Storm
    You fire a special magical arrow into the sky which will then break apart and arrows will then fall down in the selected area dealing 3000 damage to each enemy inside of the radius.

    [LB3] 9000 Needles
    You unleash a torrent of arrows at a single target dealing 9000 damage to them and dealing 100 damage per second for 10 seconds.

    Thaumaturge / Black Mage:
    [LB1] Skyshard
    Deals elementally neutral damage with a potency of 1400 to all enemies near point of impact.

    [LB2] Starstorm
    Deals elementally neutral damage with a potency of 3000 to all enemies near point of impact.

    [LB3] Meteor
    Deals elementally neutral damage with a potency of 5400 to all enemies near point of impact.

    Arcanist:
    [LB1] Bio Bubble
    Deals 150 unaspected damage for 10 seconds to all enemies within the selected area.

    [LB2] Unholy Plague
    Deals 500 unaspected damage for 10 seconds to all enemies within the selected area.

    [LB3] Morbols Breath
    Deals 800 unaspected damage for 10 seconds and inflicts paralysis, silence, sleep, and blind for 20 seconds to all enemies within the selected area.


    Summoner:
    [LB1] Unlocked Potential
    Increases pet abilities based on the egi summoned.
    //Ifrit- increases attack by 20% //Garuda- Increases magic damage by 20% //Titan- Increases Enmity towards enemies//

    [LB2] Purge the Land
    Increases pet abilities based on the egi summoned.
    //Ifrit- increases attack by 50% //Garuda- Increases magic damage by 50% //Titan- Increases Enmity towards enemies and increases DEF by 30%//

    [LB3] We are One
    For 20 seconds, you fuse with your summoned egi and grant yourself different abilities.
    //Ifrit- Your blood runs with the fires of Ifrit, dealing 500 damage per second to any enemy around you while granting you the skill set "Ifrit" which specializes in burning the enemy alive.
    //Garuda- Your blood runs with the royal air of Garuda herself, increasing spell speed and spell damage by 50% and increasing your dodge rate by 20% while granting you the skill set "Garuda" which bestows you the power of the wind itself as you tear up any enemy that faces you.
    //Titan- Your blood runs with the fury of the earth of Titan, while increasing your DEF and VIT by 60%, you also force the enemies around you to attack you while granting you the skill set "Titan" which bestows you the power to attack any enemies around you dealing massive damage and pushing them away.//

    Dragoon:
    [LB1] Dragon Talons
    You leap over an enemy and throw your spear down at the enemy dealing 2300 to them.

    [LB2] Supersonic Dive
    You jump high up into the sky and then come crashing down on top of an enemy with your spear dealing 5000 damage and stuns them for 3 seconds.

    [LB3] Legacy of the Dragoon
    You focus a mystical energy into your spear and then you jump even higher into the sky than before and you come crashing down like a meteor on top of your enemy dealing 9000 damage and 300 damage per second for 5 seconds.

    Bard:
    [LB1] Strings of War
    Increases party members Skill and Spell speed by 20% for 10 seconds.

    [LB2] Flight of the Bumblebee
    Increases party members Skill and Spell speed by 50% for 20 seconds.

    [LB3] The Devils Tune
    Increases party members Skill and Spell speed by 60% for 20 seconds and restores all MP and TP of all party members.

    Monk:
    [LB1] Poisonous Snake
    You strike the enemy like a snake dealing 2300 to an enemy and dealing 150 damage per second for 5 seconds

    [LB2] Fists of Wukong
    you attack the enemy multiple times dealing 5000 damage while blinding them for 5 seconds and silencing them for 1 second.

    [LB3] The Five Point Palm Exploding Heart Technique
    Does 9000 damage to an enemy and deals 500 damage per second for 8 seconds.

    You are creating the very problem that they want to avoid. You clearly have several jobs that do similar LB, but one is clearly better (as they are not the same) and everyone will only let in parties the job with the best LB.

    like I said, these are just ideas just to think about.
    I wasn't really making an attempt to balance them that much sense it took up so much time just writing it down.
    Only trying to make a LB to "could" fit into the class theme.

    I think his point is that no matter what, there will always be one limit break that is unanimously the best. Sure, some will be really good in certain situations, but otherwise it'll still be the same __ class always does LB based on if it's single target or aoe target needed.

    I love the idea of varied LBs. What we have now is a bit boring and somewhat nonsensical (bard gets healers LB?).

    Have you looked at a real bard? (e.g. the one in the moogle mog fight) Out of the 4, that is the most reasonable. What needs to change is the archer LB, not bard.

    This thread isn't about the existing limit breaks, it's about creating new, individual ones for each class/job.

    After playing this for more than 6 months now, I am confident to say that the biggest issue to change with Limit Breaks is the fact that they are shared by the whole group.

    99% of the time, the only person even allowed to utilize their LB is your DRG or MNK, and for this reason every group doing difficult content makes it a point to have at least one of these jobs.

    As for the other Limit breaks, just about the only time a tank is ever allowed to use theirs is in the Hard Ultima fight, and casters only get to use theirs in Hard Ifrit, or on the rare event that your team simply does not have a MNK or DRG to use theirs.

    Healers and bards are simply not allowed to use theirs pretty much ever. In the rare event that it does look like a good idea to use a healing limit break, it's not. Even when you revive the whole team, they all get res sickness, and die shortly after because of it.

    Limit Breaks do need to change. They do NOT need to be individual to the player, but we do need separate LB bars for each of the four types of LBs. The healing LB needs to revive people without giving them res sick.
