Checked with the dev. team about displaying the time in-game (aside from the manual display method, of course). They said that if there is a major call for it to be added, they'll discuss its implementation. So... is there a huge desire for this?

How about people just DONT like the post if they don't want it, instead of you farming likes by doing the way you are.
While I'm pretty sure the UI is supposed to be LUA, it's easy to add things people may or may not want and then end up with a default UI being way too cluttered. I think they should implement something like this only alongside an update to the interface that allows you to turn any individual item on or off.

Like this post if you do NOT desire an ingame clock.

I don't think there's a major desire for it for most people. Clocks on laptops, walls, cell phones, and many other places. I personally wouldn't object to it as long as it didn't use normal screen real estate (as I said before, if implemented, I think the side menu would be best, that way it wouldn't be cluttering up the screen the rest of the time). FFXIV's UI is very clean when it comes to how your screen real estate is managed, and I'm wary of adding unnecessary gadgets to it without a strong reason.
So for me, personally, the vote would be a NO, with caveats as outlined above.

I agree with you here. And besides it's not really required since they have more important stuff to work on.I don't think there's a major desire for it for most people. Clocks on laptops, walls, cell phones, and many other places.

As with all things, I would like to see something like this but have it as an optional widget to add or remove.![]()

I was under the impression the UI is built with LUA. If this is the case, it should take like 5 minutes for a professional UI coder to put a clock up. In response to "Is there a huge desire for this?", I'd just like to ask... Why not? It's a clock, a simple feature, most people play video games fullscreen and cannot see desktop clocks. I'm not a professional coder but I have played a lot with LUA and it's a very simple language and adding a clock should probably take less than 5 lines of code.
Alternatively, let us code our own addons so we can make our own clocks.![]()
As Chloe Ardarose/Dream said, there's no reason to clutter up the UI with unnecessary widgets, and I think a clock is unnecessary. So I'd vote no.
Having said that, I'd be fine with it if you could toggle it off, or if it was listed under the /clock command.Would it be complicated by the fact that so many people play in different time zones? So maybe the time would need to be pulled from the individual player's CPU, or it would require some timezone function to be coded in. (But I really have no idea what I'm talking about.)I'm not a professional coder but I have played a lot with LUA and it's a very simple language and adding a clock should probably take less than 5 lines of code.
