I agree it should be added actually, I just don't think it's going to do someone who can't even be bothered to look 8 inches up at the wall much good.
My home office doesn't have a hanging clock anywhere in it. So, if I'm stuck in full-screen mode, I can't just easily look at my Windows task bar.
It's not fair to assume it's laziness more than circumstance.

I agree on the real world clock. We have an Eorzea clock, but Eorzea time doesn't seem as important as real world time. Until shops and wards start having open and close times or NeoHades Bahamut only wanders the desert between 1 and 2 on the 5th Umbral Moon, but until then, having an onscreen quick-glance clock in full screen would be of benefit.
Or you can buy a Swatch. Time accuracy & style FTW!
Anyway, I guess that a watch, a clock or anything that displays the hour (even a phone can do it =D) should be needed in every room of the house (kitchen, bedrooms at least).
And anyway, I say Yes for a clock ingame just for comfort. It may be a good thing to have for those who don't have a clock, alarm or anything else of that nature and don't want to spend money on that (even if I'd think about it...).

If you don't want to buy a clock for your desk...
And you don't want run in windowed mode so you can use Windows' clock...
How about launching FFXIV via Steam? Its free, works with fullscreen mode and you can push SHIFT+TAB to see the time.
With everything that's changing in FFXIV, I wouldn't really want the developers wasting time to add something that's so easy to find another solution to and is, for most people, just going to take up screen real-state.
