More Diversity with Mounts

I'd rather never see a single "Vanity" mount in the game and have them work on making Chocobos unique.

I'm the crazy one though...

I'm in the same boat, though maybe for different reasons. I hate seeing these bulky, tacky, fanservice mounts. I can tolerate some of them to an extent (coeurl, unicorn, etc) because they don't take up much more room than the chocobos, but things like the magiteck armor, behemoth, and goobue are just an eyesore and incredibly annoying when blocking your view (or your character).

After seeing the newest mount in the works it appears that there really isn't any distinguishing characteristics between mounts that isn't cosmetic.

I'd like to see more diversity with mounts other then how they look. Exclusive abilities and whatnot...

It would be cool If we had some mounts with the ability to sprint, and the ones that could hover have the ability to glide when they go off cliffs. Maybe something like allowing Magitek armor to be used in certain raids like the Praetorium?

Oh I know, but gargantuan mounts that fill up a players screen will always be an eyesore. This applies to every MMO.

Personally, Id just like them to be faster. Its a little offputting when your character can sprint about as fast as a Chocobo can run. Wouldnt even need to be that big of a boost ... at least maybe 30-50% more. I think the diversity of mounts is fine though at least for aesthetics.

As far as special mount abilities, I dont see why not. Though it might give favor to one mount over another if say one can glide and one can sprint. SE might not like that.

Mounts don't need a Sprint action. They are already in Sprint mode all the time.

Not to mention the maps are bloody tiny to begin with. We don't really need to be able to cross all of Eorzea in ten minutes guys.

I don't mind having purely cosmetic mounts, and strangely enough, I prefer them that way. There's nothing worse then making them all unique, and the elitists saying something like "So and so is faster than the other one, so the other one is trash."

And don't even deny that'll happen, people will complain about the sand at Costa Del Sol if they could >_>

Trust me, the last thing we need is elitist in this game.
I've seen it happen so many times in different MMO's and the majority of the players tend to argue with each other if they quest together.
