    Story Quest Reset (New Class)

After I attained level 50 and completed the story, got my mech mount, starting labyrinth, got my relic...etc (you get the point). I got bored playing my character on another class.

    My idea is this.

Once you have 100% completed the story quests, allow your character to reset just story quests. This way when you change your character's class to one you've never played before, you have motivation, incentive to play that class to 50.

To make sure that people don't try to abuse this in any way as a way of power leveling, make it to where once you reset the main story quests, they HAVE to completed 100% again in order to reset it for yet another class.

I hate that my character is now destined to fate/dungeon run for the rest of its days.
With this option, I would actually spend my time more on my one character instead of having to create a new one with the class I want to play next.

    I'm torn here:
On the one hand, I agree entirely that fate/dungeon/level/hunting log grinding is boring, especially in a game where the endgame (level 50, after the main story) is considered the most important/entertaining/most-focused-on part, and that the story quests are the best source of exp in the game.
On the other hand, this would make the game soooooooo much easier, what with leveling your remaining classes being a big time-consuming part of the gameplay. Without it, people would be rushing to 50 on all there classes (I think even crafting and harvesting) and light speed (or at least faster then they are now. which, depending on how serious someone takes this game, could already be really fast) and would get bored, especially with the game still in 2.1 going to 2.2. We already have an unhealthy amount of the community that are like this without having to redo the story and an even bigger amount complaining that the end-game is a grind-fest for tomes and extreme mode accessories. :B

Then take my initial idea and reduce the exp by lets say 10-15%.

My whole basis is to give players some incentive to level more classes on one character. Questing is where 85% of all the fun in this game is at. It's a drag that 20% or those quests have to be solo'd instead of completing it as a group, but still.

I know its a ton of work and all but I would still appreciate it if each of the classes/jobs/races had their own stories that tie into the game. Play them from each nations perspective. That wouldn't completely shred the story or the Final Fantasy Lore. If anything its adds some additional depth.

I don't see the point of doing the story more than once. People who roll alts in other games just skip the quest text anyway since they've already done it. All you're asking for is to make an already easy way to level up even easier. Your secondary classes get a 50% xp boost for random kills, levequests and FATEs, and even more from dungeons. And this doesn't include the daily roulette bonuses and daily beastmen quests in the 40s.

Still doesn't change the fact that random kills, levequests FATEs, and dungeons get stale and boring.
Some people might say that they didn't understand a movie until the watched it more than once...same can be said here.
Once the story is complete and your able to attribute people, places, names, and so on, you can better understand what you missed the first time.
    (thats not the point though)
The point is, anything other than quests can get old very quickly even with a +50% exp boost.

Think of it as the games natural "replay-ability".

I played through FF7 several times because I enjoyed revisiting my favorite places, hearing my favorite music in the series, seeing my favorite characters and so on.
The main story quest is something you can only experience once per character while everything else respawns, re-ups, or can ultimately be played again right aftering completing it (with the exception of tribe quests).

After all, the story brings you to places only in the story that you would not go by yourself just exploring for any reason.

Its not about making the game easier. Its about entertainment. We play the game to entertain ourselves for a little while. Why not hear (or in the case play) the wonderful story FFARR has to offer again and again?

It's not hurting anything and its not changing the game for better or worse.

Pfft, if the +50% exp for extra characters is an issue, make it to where you get -40% exp from the re-played story missions. Hell! Make it 50% so there is no additional EXP game from story missions at all. That way you cant speed through it or power level by any means.

Well, maybe not entire story quests, but maybe redoing certain sidequests for large amounts of exp could be worth it. Like doing the level 1-15 quests or something like that. Something that involves questing to gain good exp amounts could make leveling alt classes easier, because right now, it hard to find a fate party to hit 50 right now.
