My account is still active and I'd have started my own thread but as I stated before it wouldn't let me. And so far I've not argued against anyone else's opinion, called anyone a name, or told anyone what they actually felt. I merely stated why I have left the game as this was the only thread I found related to players who quit and more than anything I want SE to start giving more to the players who give so much time and money to them.

Ortamus, MMOs are not for everyone. If you want the instant satisfaction you are describing you can play small scale multiplayer game or invest some cash into a f2p game for all the perks and happiness your money can buy but even then you will probably find some grindy aspects. But you really should stop judging how others use their time, your pity is meaningless to people who enjoy playing MMOs for what they offer. You ask if we think its worth it to grind things out, well I ask you is it worth it to come to these forums and try to convince people to quit? you are wasting your time here as well, you might as well be grinding a relic weapon.

To anyone quitting: just quit, dont inform the forums, just save dignity and leave. Making a post is screaming "Im bitter over my life choices" or "Im burnt out, please talk me into staying". Ortamus sounds like the first.

Obviously I've hit a nerve, my intention wasn't to offend it was to see if any other people who didn't enjoy the game for the same reasons as myself. Well done on being the second person on assuming my thoughts and being completely wrong. People can post whatever they want here, they don't have to meet your approval.

We never 'assumed' anything about you; you made your thoughts clear as day. And it's not what you say, it's how you say it, and how you explained that you felt pity because someone was proud just shows your not akin to those who enjoy what this game offers. And there's no need to 'defend' this game, it's just a game and every game has hits and misses for everyone. It is what it is and it is clearly something you don't want, as a couple have already helped explain. Honestly, not sure why you're looking for reinforcement as to the reasons you quit. If it didn't appeal in the end, that's fine. We all sometimes end up stepping too far into a game we eventually realize we don't enjoy. The best is really to just move on and find something you can enjoy.

You gave good feedback. Everything can always use adjustments. I'll certainly not defend the ludicrous rng that ties into relics, especially when stacked with grind. RNG on anything can always be nasty, it sucks. And there could be a more efficient system, but rng and grind is how MMOs survive. Pony drops honestly it's not something necessary and all fluff, so I can't throw up my arms and demand better drop chances. Gear that people need to perform better in content is a different story. It does need work. Better would be if raids offered more loot per run to fight the low drops or considering the number of classes in existence for specific gear. But you can always find other outlets for gear. Grinding currencies, or crafting and slotting materias. May not always be the best but it can hold over while you more passively grind gear.

Two people have incorrectly made assumptions on my thoughts, yourself not being one of them. As to "why" I wanted to know if there were any other players who thought the same, obviously one my reasons has upset a few people here and for that I can only apologize, having already explained it to people if I see any more replies regarding one sentence I'm not going to bother replying. But on the others I sincerely want SE to make the game more enjoyable for players and make it more fun because for a long time the only thing that kept me going were the other players. The one thing I'll miss more than anything is stuff like when you're out doing fates, teaming up with a random person and making a new friend out of it. I'll not miss the battles, the gathering, the story, or SE telling me I have to change my password, but the people have been awesome.

I mean, just in general, if you're gonna go after someone's assumptions it's a good idea to double check your own just to be safe. At least I assume so.

Giving feedback is good. Which he... kind of did?

Personally, I haven't done anything in 14 that makes me proud, other than saving a wipe. In XI and heck, even GW2 I have more to be proud of. But everything in this game is just throw away.

I'm not quitting though. There are some things I like about 14. And I have stayed subscribed even though I've been taking a break until the expansion. I love the community - developer relationship. But the community to community relationship sucks.

Also, necro bump guy, you seem to want something to be proud of in this game. Would getting a guaranteed pony after just one run really help you feel proud? Unless it's a pay to win game (which will definitely not have anything to be proud over), there's no MMO that will not be a waste of your time.

People like yourself are what really made this game worth while. I didn't want pride, I don't think I'd ever be to find that in any game, I wanted fun. Sometimes knowing what you'd get is a big motivator. An example would be in pvp, I knew how many wins I'd have to get for my mounts. Maybe with the pony's I'd say reward players automatically with them after they've completed the duty a certain number of times (if they've not had luck with loot) It's not even for myself, I was happy enough on my Maelstorm horse. I just didn't like to see people stressing because they'd take hours forming parties then only to lose out. A friend of mine done WoD 37 times to get their last piece of loot and they weren't enjoying it. I know it's up to each individual how they spend their time I think it'd be nice if the game rewards the players a little more.

Can't argue that. So, if they did something like a fail-safe; do ramuh ex 299 times and haven't won the pony lot? Well on the 300th you'll get a token that will drop only to you that will let you redeem it for the pony.

Is that something you'd like? I don't know how possible that is to develope. But when leaving feedback it's good to try to leave solutions to the things you don't like. Which I think you tried to do, but they have been misunderstood.

I'd probably cap it at 20 per primal. But yeah, something like that. To make it happen, just include it in the achievements like the Warrior bear and Paladin lion.
