I have noticed that people leave pretty quick, it's a different mentality than in FFXI. I remember having friends for years over there, not here. I'm not sure why that is, but the difference can also be felt in how people treat each other vs. a game like FFXI. Anyone else feel that difference? I can't put my finger on it.

I understand that. I played 11 over 4 years and felt as though I could have put more time into it. I've only played 14 for about nine months or so. I was part of a big Free Company and the people were decent enough, friendly to new players and such, but the amount of people that just suddenly stopped playing was huge. The one difference I see in 14 is that players are so much more selfish than they were in 11. I remember getting my lvl 55 cap and the amount of help I got was amazing. Eight People gave their time to get me through it as a group because they enjoyed being able to do something on the open world map.

I think The LS/ FC setup and party setup in 14 is largely to blame. Then you add in playe r lack of patience and selfish mentalities. I think the ability view one ls at a time setup encouraged ppl to band together. Ls's had to be managed so that loot wasn not just a free for all. You put in time until it was your turn to get the gear you had been waiting for. Personally i loved the point system and was lucky enough to find eg ls's that solid honest players.
