I'm in many Linkshells as well and see the same situation, more or less, being played out in other groups.
I guess I'm in the minority here in that I think the highlighted is what is causing people's misfortunes and not technically the game. It's not a hard concept to understand, Coil has a player lock out so if a group of people already have a static then try and find like minded people to make another group? You don't need to be in the same FC or Linkshell to make a static group for coil. The people who think "I only want to play with my FC/LS/Friends" are limiting themselves and it's their own fault. How did they come about making their friends to begin with? There are lots of people in this game, in my opinion, and it may or may not be an easy road but making new friends and finding similar play style people is an option.

I, personally, wouldn't want a selfish or irrational person in my group or helping anybody else for that matter. I have an alt that I lvl'd specifically to help people in my ls/fc run coil if they need it. Most the time I end up going into party finders and we successfully complete the turns, except turn 5. Half the time some people mention in the group that "this should be a static", "is anybody looking for a static", or "is anybody needing another person for their static". It's not rare.

I also wouldn't mind if player lock outs got removed but to really blame friendships breaking or "strains on friendships/fc's" on a game mechanic is kind of unfair. In the end, it's all about the player attitude. It's always easier to blame the game I guess.
