    But to get to my main point, yes there is a good reason why these areas shouldn't exist outside of go-in-get-quest-done. It's archaic and doesn't fit with this kind of game.

    Also, to get back to your first reply, the OP quite literally is asking for things from XI to be added into XIV. The reason I wanted you to look at my reply was that it directly pertained to why I do not want.

    Exp grinding in mun-tuy? Yoe ever did leves (where RMTs can't kill your mobs) to get the best exp there or you farmed for mats but not for exp.

    I don't know: looking to everything the new ARR's team made aside from 1.0 areas restyling like dungeons and a totally new Coerthas and Mor Dhona (which I don't like, both) I don't think ARR's team has the talent to reinvent or just remake the high level and quality of FFXI areas and dungeons like that.

    Oh? To me it feels like every single dungeon has that requirement now (though to be fair, some require 8 people to open the gate, and one requires 24).

    What's people phobia with anything that resembles XI? Do you also hysterically scream at the screen saying it sucks because you're playing basically the same races XI had?

    The OP isn't talking about bringing the XI zones to XIV or anything like that, he's talking about bringing back open "dungeons" which are basically the same as over world maps but inside a building/tunnel, my fondest memories in games usually happen in them, it's a shame we don't have them in XIV, it also makes the game feel smaller, I always ask myself why when I go from Black Brush to Blue Fog we skip Nanawa Mines altogether when we had a "dungeon" between them.

    No, we're not asking for Instanced dungeons to be removed, but having some of them being there in the open would add so much more flavor to the game, be it for story reasons (I loved doing quests/missions in XI and adventuring into them instead of going to X point on the overworld map and fight 4 mobs that spawn out of nowhere) or just because when going between zones it sucks when you're supposed to go through a dungeon but you appear at the other side magically like in Thanalan.

    I would really like big open dungeons too. Not obligatory or anything. Not with giganormous worthwhile drop or NM to camp.
    Just a random zone with dangerous monsters and random optional activities just for the heck of it ...
    So you can XP the old way if you want or mine or explore.
    There is a PVP Zone, so why not a "Nostalgia" Zone ?

    I'm wondering about this too. Tell anyone you want anything that was in XI and they'll tell you to GTFO and play FFXI instead because it is still there. Yet people squee with joy when they add Magitek armour and limit breaks, Costa del Sol, Doma, Gold Saucer, show something that might possibly be Viera... What used to be FFXIV is just thrown-together pieces of older FF titles and everyone seems to love it, except if there is ever mention of anything that was originally in FFXI. That, for some reason, is taboo.

    Yeah OP im all for this. Sadly few poster above and this new generation of gamers prefer easier things. They rather just stand in town and tell mama jokes while waiting for instance.

    Not trying to be a nay-sayer here. If people find out which dungeon is easiest thats the one they will all flock to, and so will RMT. People wan't fastest possible exp, fun, so on and so forth. And I'm talking in general here, does not apply to all. Just look at the other games, they would all flock to one little tiny area, and well that would be that, overrun.

    But if they do manage to truly implement what you say...that would be glorious!
