    I guess in today's world these are considered dungeons.. But the difference was you could go into one of these places and there were no time limits and not instanced.. Also they weren't long hallways.. They were multi purposed and if you were doing a questline boss often times it would be in a room that was instanced so you didnt have to contented with outsiders. This model made the world feel MUCH larger and much more like a world instead of a carnival.. which is what FFXIV feels like to me.. Bring this style back! Who's with me!

    Were it not for the fact that when we had open dungeons in 1.0. RMTs just camped the mobs that dropped loot or had fast spawn rates and legit players never got to touch them, I might be in favor of this.

    We had open world dungeons in 1.0, they were just really really sad and poorly done.

    As for RMTs... This isnt any different then the outside world.. except... its inside.. The items that drop can still be U/U.. there can be some item pop bosses inside.. special fates... No need to be scared of RMT issues...

    And last... just because im asking for these types of areas doesn't make my suggestio an xi-2 request... there are plenty of other games with open world dungeons vs long hallways for 60 minutes with the same exact pattern and bosses closed dungeons.

    The type of dungeons im asking for you can explore solo (harder though) or in a party.. whatever you prefer...

    I cannot wait for 2.2! Its going to open up more areas and well shoot its this month...

    I hope they bring something close to what the OP is asking for, because that would be amazing! I'm just excited about the game and looking forward to the end game stuff

    Open world dungeons would be nice... Just give them a system similar to Treasure Maps...

    Lets say we get a Garlean Stronghold open world dungeon, you can go there, kill some mobs, they drop a map (and now wont again for 18 hours), you decipher the map, find the treasure chest, it's locked and requires <random> key, various bosses (not FATEs...) in the zone drop specific keys, kill that boss, open chest, profit.

    Now ask yourself, "How can it be abused?" In order to implement such a system fairly Square will have to ask that very same question.

    I really want to see open world public dungeons. There is no sense of danger or adventure in the world. Having a treasure map in a dungeon type area that you have to actually work to get to would be fun.
